I dont think that your social group (punk, prep, etc) should decide where you shop. I shop at American Eagle, Aeropostale, Old Navy...etc, and i listen to all that "punk/rock/alternative" music...
I just go to the stores and find something that is my style..

The only reason i made this post was because im getting sick of people saying "If your prep you cant shop here" etc..
(they dont say this on createblog..i mean in real life)

same here. i shop at all of those preppy stores but i listen all the music that you listen to. i don't think people should get labeled by the way they dress or the music that listen to. it's so stupid.

yeah, it goes the same for so called "prep" stores. a lot of people at the stores kind of look down on you if you're not preppy or whatever. it's you decision where to shop, and they're getting the moola for it, so i wouldn't be complaining about it if i were them...
I don't let it get to me. i shop wherever i want, whether the people want me there or not. They can't deny me service.

I agree with you completely.

I'm usually considered goth or punk, and what I wear fits the stereotype perfectly, but a lot of people I know have to put up with that crap all the time.

People are so ridiculous.

Pretty much the only places I shop are PacSun, Hot Topic, and Old Navy (but only for their wide leg jeans) because I just don't like the clothing other stores usually have, but people can be incredibly stupid about the way the associate clothing, music and attitudes.

i shop at old navy, pac sun, and sometimes aeropostale. i listen to punk rock/alternative music as well, but my style isnt lyk " black nailpolish, fishnet stockings, black clothing from hot topic ". i buy bracelets and other things at hot topic, and people there dont treat me differently cuz im COLORFUL. i feel comfortable no matter where i shop, and if people [some do] have a problem, then i dont care..cuz they are haters lol

I shop at Target, Hot Topic, Pac Sun, Walmart, Charlotte Russel, LTD2, Savers, and anywhere else that I can find something cute. I listen to any and every kind of music. One day I'll wear bright pastels or be covered in bright pink, the next I'll be in dark colors, mixing black and red. Sometimes I just wear costumes for the heck of it. And sometimes I keep a binky in my mouth all day.

So.. I don't get labels.

Why label stores as 'preppy'? If you like the clothes, you like 'em.

i really shouldn't be on this forum but anyway, ill tell you this. real "punks" dont shop at hot topic. i dont like hot topic at all. its funny how the kids that shop there say they hate " trendy " people but all the hot topic kids look alike and all dress in black. i see a few good shirts there but im not into the mall metal music( known as "nu-metal" ) just keep shoping where you want to. dont listen to them kids you do what you want.

Whenever I go to hot topic, its always the days that i wear bright colored cothes. I always seem to be the only one in the whole damn store wearing something bright.

lol yah i agree. I have my own style, so i go newhere to try to find pieces of clothes that match me....Meaning i would shop at hot topic which is really punk, but i'll get the shirt at american eagle..it doesn't really matter to me, if the ppl have a problem because i don't match the style of the store , then too bad lol

I don't judge what I wear by the music I listen to if that is what you mean. I do listen to rock/punk/emo/indie/alternative whatever you want to call them but

I agree with KissMe2408 completely. I have my own style and I will shop at Hollister, Hot Topic, Pac Sun, American Eagle..If they have something that I like. I have my own style and I don't care if Hot Topic is not for "Real Punks" or Hollister is too preppy. I could be wearing ripped jeans and my clash shirt one day and then a skirt and a polo the next.

So yeah, I don't haha.
