me and this guy realli like each other, and we want to get together, but the thing is that we're diff. races and mah parents don't like it when i go out with diff. races. i think that its just wrong and i should be able to see who i want to. anyone have advice//suggestions

i agree with wonders 79^^. invite him to dinner and show them how nice he really is. if they still don't agree, have a talk with ur parents about how race doesn't matter. once they see how much u really like him, maybe they will give u a chance.

I think that's the best way to do! I mean if my parents didn't like my crush even though he is Korean but if they don't like him cause he's not that rich or something that they don't like. Then I would change them, so they can like my crush hehe |

Wow anyways...I liked the idea of inviting him over to dinner to see how your parents react to him. I cannot believe this crap is still going on. I am mexican american and Im dating a white guy. My parents do not care however my grandparents would like me to date within my mexican race. Thank god they are not my parents.
My parents always told me to date someone not based on their race but on how well they treat you and how well you are compatable. It should not be up to your parents who you can and cannot date. Thats just silly. I say do it anyways. Good luck

well parents aren't always right. so if you guys really do like eachother, just try it. just don't tell your parents. what they don't know can't hurt them. also, my friend's parents are like that, and she still will date whomever she wants no matter the race, but she has tried talking about it with her parents and explaining to them why it was wrong, so you might try that, it could work.

thanx everyone. my parents and the guy's parents both think that we should see someone that is the same race as ours, but i don't see whats wrong with seein someone that is a diff. background. me and the guy have been thinking that we should juss get together and not tell our parents, and if they do find out, o0o well.
i keep telling my parents that its not like i'm gonna go elope with him, but they think that i'm goin to get pregnent at a young age, b.c. my mom had my older brother when she was 18. she wants me to finish college and then go do wat i gotta do. |

umm....what age does your parents live in??? Becuz last I checked people dated each other becuz of feelings and how the opposite makes them feel..race never had anything to do with relationships....so yours should makes no difference.
