I'm looking to buy a new straightener... my hair is pretty fine and not really that curly, soooo I don't need a Chi or anything. But I'm wondering what you guys could reccomend for up to 60 dollars?

i have really thick, curly hair..and i know people will disagree with me on this one, but there is this one specific flat iron from conair believe it or not, that i got for 40 bucks and it actually made my hair feel silky for the first time in months! i'm sure since your hair isn't as curly and thick, it will make your hair feel great! it's ceramic so it won't be as harsh on your hair. I currently use it now! you can find it ont the conair website here.

A ceramic iron. Doesn't damage your hair that much. They range from $25 and up. That is your best bet.

I've never heard of them... are they ceramic? What type of hair do you have? Also have any of you heard of the ions in a straightener? The more the better... all I know is that my hairstylist was talking about them and something about energy that I wasn't paying much attention to... Chi irons have some hgh measure of ions. |

i personally use chi, because i have curly hair. But I have friends that use Hot Tools (the ceramic one). Don't use the regular hot tools, it damages your hair quite badly.

i really highly DO NOT recommend Conair. My hair is really curly and conair does not straighten it AT ALL..so whatever you do, if you are planning on spending a good amount of money on it, atleast get a nice one!
Hot tools is very good, a lot of people I know use that and it works well. Personally, i use ceramic series by Helen of Troy. I think it only cost me about $35 and it works perfectlyy and i've had it for a while now. soo yeah, good luck! |

you know what i recommend you do? go to folica.com and look there. They have straightening irons ranging from Chi, all the way to Hot tools. I bought a Hai 2 straightener from there which was like $120, and they are really good to work with. They even have a thing to find out what kind of straightener is best for your hair. And if you don't like the straightener, you can return it for a full refund!

So, is curlmaster at Walmart also? Or salons only... I don't want to have to order online. And is there any model by Hot Tools that's better than another?

Whatever type you should get, you should get a ceramic one because ny other type can damage your hair. But make sure it's not the imitation ones with metals plates and ceramic plate covering it. A real ceramic one cost over 60$.

whatever you get make sure it`s ceramic that is the best one for hair. well for me this christmas i got a revlon one i think that was on sale for like 10 bucks. but while you are looking for one, just ask one of the people working there to recommend something.
