wow--cluttered. the boxed thing is trite, as are the dotted blog borders and the anime pictures (i'm too biased to be truly objective on the anime part--i can't stand the stuff). to make a good design that flows, you have to take each part not just as a separate "cool" hack, but as a part of the whole. Sketch out a concept or just think of what you're trying to accomplish: "okay, i want a skin featuring this band." start with a specific picture, and build things around it. mess with it in whatever photo-editing program you may have to give you some ideas of where to go with it. the main name of the game is just screw around with it. throw paint here, try a brush there, and see what works best. what sucks is that it takes so much bloody time, but you'll get the hang of it.

wow. way too much going on. get rid of those pink things on the side, lose the bg and make it less default and then maybe it will be better.

the banner is fizzy and really effortless, the whole xanga is default and there's no color scheme. sorry, but put more effort.
