I think people take aim too seriously nowadays.
I remember back in '69 when all we had was mail and our own voice.
those were the days.

I read somewhere that instant messaging is the #2 prefered mode of communication in business, after e-mail.

Why shouldn't people take AIM seriously? It's cost efficient and saves time.

I LIKE sending letters though! :]] ... But yea you're right. lol I'm a cheapo as well!

Why wait a week to receive a letter from someone who lives in a different state, when you can receive email from them in mere minutes? And plus, people wouldn't get to know others from all around the world if the internet wasn't invented... Okay wait, let me rephrase that. People who don't travel that much wouldn't be able to meet others from around the world if it wasn't for the internet.

Exactly haha.

:D Sometimes AIM can be taken too seriously... like people get into fights just because of some stupid aim conversation or misunderstanding..

But I love aim.

exactly, and at my old school ppl actually went to the counselor's office cuz of some convo on aim and i think all of them got into trouble and the counselor is like "it didn't happen in school so we dotn care." i sort of agree with her concept but i think its really harsh..

i don't really like aim. i don't like having to type everything that you want to say. it is easier to talk in person or the phone. but if you do want to talk to someone that is far away, like a family member or something, they appreciate more if it is a letter. at least in my family. (they are weird). _smile.gif

uh, yeah and why would I want to spend 2 hours on the phone talking to someone far,far away when i can simply do it on AIM for, like, FREE..... _dry.gif

yeah, i agree, it's cheaper, and i don't see what you mean by "taking it so seriously" okay, you don't use it fine, but i prefer it and it's not fake or anything...so uh yeah i take it "seriously" blink.gif

^I agree with what patrick star said

It's just something that we have progressed to. It's like people getting mad when cellphones came out. wacko.gif but when you are stuck on the highway with no one in sight then you'll be thankful for one. As for aim, if you don't like it. dont use it. it's just a new form of communication now, and you gotta deal. and as for taking it seriously? lol, c'mon now huh.gif
