on 20/20, this news show on abc, there was once a special on japanese straight perms and these different women from different places got a japanese straight perm..they then realized that they were losing hair... a lot of it. I suggest that you get a hair straightener

japanese straight perm? what the... lol um ok... but anyways if you meant those really straight perms... you should try buy one at supercut... cause they sell them... and umm to let you know there's no such thing as japanese straight perm... if you meant straight perm as in make your hair really straight uhh yeah...

But see, she's asking if anyone has ever got them. My friend got one but she went to Korea for it. I think it was less than 100 dollars over there. But over here, it's 100+ dollars. Or so I've heard. I'm not for sure though. Who is willing to admit they got one? :]

I stragihten my hair with a ceramic iron.. But seen it takes a while (15-20 minutes) to do it, and after I wash my hair, my hair turns back to the way it was. It doesn't stay straight forever, either. It stays straighter than your normal hair, but it does't stay slick straight for 10 hours.. maybe just the first 4 hours. But then if you blowdry your hair right after and do a certain techinique (that I don't know of), it makes it stay for 8 hours

My friend got it done and she loves it. She paid around $150 for it cause her hair is medium length. Just like a curly perm, you just gotta keep going back because of the roots

I GOT MINE FOR 60$$ and it was straight for a very.. very... very.. long time!!!! and my hair isnt falling out x_x and its suppose to thin your hair though and make it softer and the roots stronger and all that other good crapizzle

i ahve a straightener, i just dont enjoy spending 45 minuits every morning to use it. and i saw that to. they exagerated it....like 10 people i know have one and none of them have lost any hair. rmemeber their acrylic nails specail? yah.

i really wanted to get it done, but with my hair, it's near 800-900 dollars! So, instead i get it thinned ( to help flatten the poofiness) and relaxed. Since my hair is almost like african american hair, i have treat it just like african american hair. But once i get it relaxed, it doesn't look thick or ethnic at all.

well my hair is white people hair too it's just really thick and curly, and they approved my hair for it, so i guess it depends how curly your hair is....but it's a lot less expensive than a japanese straightening perm!!

took 2 very long, cruel, boring hours.

my straight hair probably lasted about 6 months+... [it was last Dec. when I had the perm...]

but it's semi-straight now... my hair's sorta stuck like that...


but my hair was long then.... but i cut it short now.

well, since i have straight hair already i can't really help you.. but anyways, any straightening is bad for your hair. it dries it up, and it costs a lot on top of that. if you could get a straightening iron it would work just marvellously

i got my hair done like 6 year ago in m'sia cost $200 but the price would have gone down... go a "asian" hair salon.. they would have experience cos its been around for a while unlike the caucasian salons cos its new to then and also asian prices will be much lower

well, since i have straight hair already i can't really help you.. but anyways, any straightening is bad for your hair. it dries it up, and it costs a lot on top of that. if you could get a straightening iron it would work just marvellously

hmm i got one like it in korea. not sure if it was the japanese straight perm but i got a straight perm and i can`t remember the cost because it was about 3 years or so ago but my hair stayed straight for like 1 - 2 years and it worked good. didn`t seem like i lost hair. just seemed like i had less hair though because it wasn`t all thick, frizzy,a nd curly like. haha. and mine took a hella long time. like all freaking day. probably 4+ hours haha. but can`t exactly remember, sorry!

i had it done 4 time so far... iim korean, and we call this "magic straight" ...and i went to a krn salon all the times. ..so it costs ALOT less (1st time i got it done for 200$ ...2nd and 3rd time was 100$ ..and it was 200 for 4th time again...went to diff. salons at all the times)

..and yes it is worth it... but some ppl still hav to straighten it a lil bit cause it bends sometimes

not 60 =[...more like $300 since its pretty long. mine is a little past my shoulders but its really thick and curly so mine would probably be too. but a lot of the time you can get discounts and stuff. my firend got one origionally for $300 but it only costed her $200 because of all these discounts she got.

anyway, my friend mom is a hair stylist and i can probably get one there for like 130! =]
