I know that our state has this...it's almost like school for five weeks in a specific field. You stay at a state university and are taught by professors at the school. For example, I'm going to apply for the arts in acting (theater) and creative writing. There are other things, such as photography and costume design. There's other completely different fields such as Science, Agricultural Science, and Global Entrepreneurship. I was just wondering if any of you have attended any of yours at your state.

Oh ours is called 'Pennsylvania Governor's Schools of Excellence' in case you were wondering. It'd most likely be similar if they had it in your state. Also, it's completely free. It looks really good on your transcript for college.

Our Governor's School is an actual school. There's two parts to the school...Governor's School of Science and Mathematics and Governor's School of the Arts. You live on campus and all. It's really hard to get into and there's tuition and stuff. My mom tried to convince me to go, but I'd rather..not. They do have summer programs. I went to the GSSM over the summer. Fun. biggrin.gif

no, i never heard of it? is it something that's really hard to get in, and just for if you're going into certain fields, or is it a broad range of selections? happy.gif sounds interesting
