How old do you have to be to get your permit?
To get your liscense?
To actually drive people not your family?

Over here,
you have to go to Driver's Ed, and when you turn 16, you can get your permit.
After you have your permit for 6 months, you schedule a road test for your liscense.
you have to wait another 6 months to actually drive people that's not your family, but no one even follows that rule

well i live in michigan and here you have to take 2 sessions of driver's ed, then you can get your permit when your 14 and 9 months, but most people get it when they are 15. then you have to have your permit for 6 months before you can take a road test to get your liscence at 16. i think you can drive anyone when you turn 16, but you can only have 3 passengers at a time in the car (besides you).

in indiana, you can get your permit a week after you turn 15 and you can get your liscense a week after you turn 16. you can drive people under the age of 21 around 3 months after you get your liscense.

every state is different. in florida i think that u get ur license at the age of 17...but here in nj u get it at 17 and ur permit at 16

I got my permit. Im 15 in a half.

over here, u have to be 15 and 6 months to be able to get ur permit and 16 and 3 months to get ur license. thats all I know lol

permit -- you can take the class in 8th grade but can driver with the driver at 15+
liscense -- 16+
drive people not in your family-- when ever you get your permit i like North Carolina's rules

in singapore there is no such thing as permits or drivers ed...

from the looks of it..most states issue drivers licenses at 16 +

i live in tennessee and here you can get your permit at 15. After 6 months, as long as you're 16, take the road test. (If less than a year has passed between permit &l license...u only take the road test, otherwise, u take the computer test again and the road)

Does that make sense?

oh and we have 3 leveles of drivers licenses. one for 16, then 17, then 18.
I think you can drive more that family members after you have had your license for 6 months

lol you people should write where "here" is, because others will have no clue where you live.

in toronto, you have to be 16 to take the test, then you get your G1, then after a looong time, about 6months to a year or something, you get your G2, then after that you have to get your license which sucks because it takes like 2 years to get it. if you take a course you can get it in 6months, but it costs 500 bux

Here, you can get your permit when you turn 15 unless there's some complication in your family that you need it before you're 15 to take disabled people in your family elsewhere. Or, if you don't have your permit by the time you're 18, you can automatically get your license.
Normally, you can get your license when you're 16 though. Then to drive with someone other than your family or more than one person, you have to wait 6 months after you originally got your license. (Ex. I got mine October 7th and I have to wait until April 7th.. get it? )

that sucks for you we dont have to take drivers ed get permit at 15 after 6 months get license if you want and then you can drive but with restictions like no driving at the hours of 1 am till 5 pm but then after that you get your official dirvers license at 18 can drive netime you want

I think that's the rule aboout driving here in California. I've heard other rules. I'm not that conscious about driving.

permit? 16...for your actual license there's no age but you've had to have your permit for 12 months...then to drive others you have to get rid of your first license (your N) after having it for 2 years...i think. haha
