I saw a TV programme on successful people after they slimmed down... and I remember a diet which you eat grapefruits for each meal and drink lots of water... but I'm not sure if it works for every person

atkins doesnt really work all that great, it'll help you loose weight but the chances of you gaining that weight back is pretty high

exercise and eating right are the best diets around. try that.

yea i was friends with a guy that played that every day and lost a ton of weight, tho i don't know that i'd recommend doing that haha...

what i would recommend is the south beach diet... my friend trenton went on it and he's a shadow of what he used to be! i'm sure he exercised as well as following the diet, because he looks pretty well toned also. my mom has also tried going on it a couple times, and being that she's a nurse, i'd say that it's a pretty safe diet to go on, you just have to have the motivation to stick to it!

I haven't really been on an actual diet that I've stuck to for more than a day lol. My advice is to take time out of your busy day to take a long walk. It works and it relieves stress.

well do you want to lose overall weight? or just like a certain part of your body?

best suggestion: running and eating 3 meals a day. breakfast being your biggest and dinner being your smallest. also drink a glass of water before each meal.

in the winter (like now) if you cant run outside. do your staircase

that no carb thing really does work. but i really don't think teens should be going on diets. just eat what you like, and when you're full, stop eating. it's worked for me.

Eat lots of little, healty meals! Walking is better then running. Running can cause shin splints if you don't stretch proparly before hand. Just watch what you eat! My mom did the Atkins diet and it didn't help. I saw the lot's of little meals on Extreme Makeover and it worked great!

Low carb all the way.
If you stick to 20 carbs a day for the first 2 weeks you will lose so much weight in just that time.
If you're really strict and determined it does work.
I was on it since June of 2003 and I've lost about 50 pounds. (But I got off the diet around July of 2004).
I highly reccomend it. It also helps clear up skin.

I think the no carb diet is not healthy. For one, carbs give us energy. I wouldn't completely deprive myself of them all at once. I would lower your carbs, eat protein and vegetables, fruits with lots of water, etc.
Excercise.
Don't eat after 7 or so.
Buy new things at your grocery store, don't buy the food that is unhealthy, only to have it sit in your cabinets, and one day.. just scream and go eat it all at once.
Lower the amount you eat, but not drastically.
You may not see results in 2 days, but you will over time. Just get yourself used to doing them daily. Soon enough it will become habbit. This is when the results stay, when you've become used to your diet and happy with the results that are accumulating.
Answering the question, I've seen very few diets work. One being the plane-jane way to just eat right and excercise.

When you are on the low carb diet you don't cut out ALL carbs from your diet. You still eat some. And since we cut out a lot of carbs that give us energy we eat a lot of high protein foods that do..
But yeah, you're right for the most part. That's a good idea on losing weight.
