not just the whole "math, language arts, social studies, science"

but what part in the subjects do you find fastinating?

there are some parts of algebra i actually enjoy doing.

then social studies has so many events I like to learn about.
World War II really interests me...
Civil War
And a lot of the wars in asia..I read a lot of books on those like Year of Impossible Goodbyes, Red Scarf Girl, Chinese Cinderella, and When my Name was Keoko.

So what types of things in school do you actually enjoy learning about?

Hmm. This is interesting...

Math - I guess everything. It's so easy to understand for me...I enjoy all of it.
English - Bleh. Our Media unit? It's all about stereotypes and how people get your attention on commercials and stuff. Seems interesting enough.
Socials - The Enlightenment period was quite fun...we had to debate. It was hilarious.
Mandarin - NOTHING
Band - I like everything in general. I have the best band teacher ever, he gives us all these new ideas and new ways to look at things.
Science - NOTHING.
Foods - Cooking and baking. I hate the nutrition unit, it was so boring.
P.E. - Dance unit! It's so fun...we don't have to run or change into gym strip.

I take a lot of subjects and I'm too lazy to list them out so I'll just write about the one that interest me.

Math: Trigonometry definitely! I think it's easy. Statistics on the other hand... [shudder]

English Lit: The literature! What else would it be?

English: Writing essays and stories.

Accounting: I think it's challenging and that's always fun.

Visual Arts: I love arts! Enough said.

AP Art History: i like looking at the paintings in our big brown book
AP Gov't: how the whole presidential election really works, and it was cool how the lectures tied in with the actual presidential elections
NJROTC: marksmanship [shooting the air rifles] happy.gif
Physics: though i'm taking regular physics, my physics class is a combination of regular and AP physics [with 5 students taking AP and the rest regular], so regular physics in my class are pretty advanced to the other physics classes
AP English: with my english teacher, it's such a bore, that i really don't remember what we do in that class

CLASS OF 2005!! Finished my last University/College ENTRANCE exam on the 9th November!!!! SO WHOO HOO~ No more High School~

Extension Maths: OMG!! I could'nt take it anymore!! Since I'm not much of a Mathematician I could'nt really keep up since it took too much of my time!!! So dropped that subject too in 11th grade!

So I'm stuck in Advanced Maths.....boring!!!

Extension English: BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dropped that subject at the end of 11th Grade.

So then did Advanced English...........boring BORING! All thats good about English is that to do good in exams is having to just memorise 3 of your essays and you're sure to pass!!

Economics:
I actually liked it!! It was interesting and I also had a good teacher~ But unfortunately I tried my best and still didn't do good! So I had to drop the subject in 11th grade too......

Biology....interesting~ very interesting~ but there's too much to remember when it comes to exams! I love the topic of Blueprint Of Life in Genetics!!

Business Studies.........boring BORING BORING!! I regret choosing that subject!!! So far fetched from what I thought it was like studying Business Studies!!!

Information Processing Technology (Computing).....pretti fun~ The stuff is pretti easy to understand~ Love doing graphics, web design for assessments and assignments~ ^_^ I guess I'm not a computer dummy after all after studying this subject for 2 yrs~ I also had a cool teacher too!

Planning - loathe loathe loathe loathe loathe. There is nothing I enjoy in this subject. NOTHING. It's completely useless.

Math - I love graphing when teachers give you nice clean sheets to work with. When you have to cram all the reciprocal crap on a piece of lined paper it kills it for you. Math has always been awesome to me. I've never missed a beat.

Socials - I particularly love this year's socials because I have my 8th grade teacher. He really makes you work, really makes you think. Every day we have a class-long debate about certain issues, I always leave the classroom feeling drained, but in a good way.

P.E. - I liked the dance unit. That's always fun. =p

English - I'm a mechanical person. The only aspect of English that I could possibly tolerate is essay-writing, because it follows such a strict structure and format, and nothing could go wrong.

Science - Ugh. Nothing. I had an interesting experience today, but other than that...no.

Mandarin - I learn nothing in this class. Ms Lu is a crappy teacher.

Band - I love everything about band. There's really not much to say.

o0o0o0o0o okok
Math----geometry is the best! trig. love it, pi gets a bit annoying though...
Science------physics, definately. you know, circuits, energy, torque, all that.
English---Personal essays.
Social studies----i hate everything.
P.E----the dance unit! hah. "all american promonade" is the best mixer...dont like jive as much because guys often dont know what to do and they're suppossed to lead.
Language---i think speaking in Spanish sounds really cool..and im sorta forced to like Mandarin due to the fact that its my native language.

so yeah. =)

Physics:
Absolutely nothing.

Calculus:
I like application problems and figuring out how to solve a problem on my own.

English:
The Great Gatsby was awesome. Poetry was not. It really depends on the literature, I guess. I like discussion about the author's ideas, rather than strictly about the story's plot.

French:
I just like the conversation and the culture. We read French articles about current events, too, and it's interesting to delve into the French media.

History:
Analysis of society, rather than memorization of facts.

Theory of Knowledge:
Socratic seminars, applying philosophy to the various ways of knowing, learning about fallacies and how to BS like a politician. :P

World Religions:
Islam is fascinating. I like learning about the religious ideas and connecting the ideas to each religion's unique traditions. Learning about similarities between faiths is also interesting.

Hmm..well Language arts I love because we read some cool books, and our teacher lets us to fun projects and essays. In Social Studies I like to learn about World Wars, but this year I have a boring teacher and we just are learning about Latin America. In math-I just like everything in general _smile.gif In Spanish I guess it would be just speaking in spanish and having a conversation, because it's cool to talk in different languages. In Science I would say expieriments, I had a lot of fun in science last year but this year we have a mean teacher who takes the fun out of the expierements.

Nothing really 'fascinates' me about Geometry but I enjoy working on it over a few of the other subjects such as English. I don't have a very good teacher though.. or maybe it's the class. mellow.gif I really enjoyed having Algebra 1 last year though.

French Intro -
I find it interesting how differently structured the language is. For example, everything is either male or female.. no 'it'. Stuff like that is just, in a way, interesting.

US History ADV -
I've never been a fan of any type History up to now. For some reason, I'm now interested in learning about US History.

Physical Science -
Science is probably one of the more 'difficult' classes for me--mainly because I have a hard time memorizing all the material, but I manage. I find everything about science interesting, really.. especially the labs, ahaha. Plus, my teacher creates activities that, I guess, make the learning process a bit more 'fun' and interesting.

English -
In the past year or two, I haven't really enjoyed any of my English classes-- including this year. I guess it is just the teachers that I've been getting. It's easy for me to pass through the class, but I just find it.. too dull. Ehhh..

PE -
I find it 'fascinating' how everyone doesn't participate in the exercises. Meh, that's just me.. I know I do the exercises, they're not that hard. _dry.gif

Orchestra -
It's pretty interesting being in orchestra, especially when we get new pieces to sight-read/play. I sometimes don't like attending the concerts because they go on for too long (like until 9 o' clock PM). The idea of being able to go to Great America, competing with other schools and such make it more 'fun', I guess. My teacher is really nice (except if you haven't mastered a part of a song that you've been going over for weeks), so I enjoy the class.

I suppose nobody cares about the French program rolleyes.gif but well
philosophy: all that is about language and happiness (some of the subjects we already talked about) but actually I don't really enjoy philosophy
french litterature: absolutely nothing!!! I hate it
english: everything I think
spanish: huh... we have only talked about the government in Chile since the beginning of the year so I suppose I can say that I find it interesting
cinema: I like to shoot films, that's fun
history: everything is interesting but too many dates
geography: it's very interesting and I'm glad to realize that I already know most of what we are learning biggrin.gif

I find Honors Chemistry I very fascinating, I love learning about the molecular bonds and how things react, I really enjoy chemistry.

I enjoy Honors Algebra II because I enjoy the complicated thinking skills the math requires, and when you really break it down everything is so simple.

My Symphonic Band/Jazz I Band classes are the best. I love learning about music, music is my passion.

My primary areas of interest are in mathematics and natural sciences. While I started off my college career as an English/poli sci major, I found I didn't like the humanities and social sciences very much. I like calculus, and math in general, because it provides what I find to be a very good description of the world. I like logic because that's how I think, and that's how I analyze a problem. I like computer science because it allows me to creatively apply my knowledge into a specific area that I really like learning about.
