how do you tell the difference?
or whats the difference? yes i know.. its very different..
but how do you even know when your in love or its just infatuation?

I think that if you're in love than you'll just know it. Of course I would have no clue cause i've never been in love pinch.gif But that's what i hear

love - loving a person for who they are no matter their faults or errors...(love is a hard word to explain and i probably just did a bad job of explaining it...)
infatuation - loving the idea of being in love and not the person your currently with

Well I suppose love means being with your partner through thick and thin no matter what happens. It also means that you just want to spend time with your other half. Infatuation probably is just liking that person but you probably want to break it off with them soon.

Love- True, hard to break, will do anything, and would do it.
Infatuation- Lust, break up to make up, only like. Just have feelings for someone, but will eventually go away. Even if the person[s] are being drama queens/kings

Well lets see what the dictionary says :P

infatuation: to inspire with a foolish or extravagant love or admiration

Love: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties, warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion.

I belive shini said it the best.

Infatuation: Wanting some one but never doing anything about it *lusting, u want them, but they do not know since u never tell them*, loving the idea of being with them but again not doing anything.

Love: You sorta just know when your in love. Those who havent experianced it wont know what i mean, but when ur in true love, u have a very very strong affection for them, your heart flutters, you melt when they smile at you, when they hug you, when they kiss you, the most important thing to realize, and i belive is the main difference is this:

In infatuation you have feelings for them, thats it.

In love..you have feelings for them, and they share the same feelings back with the same strength and passion that you do.

infatuation is a component of love. Love has a more complicated meaning, a series of alot of things could mean love, but since there is too much to the meaning of Love, none of us really knkow what it ish.......you can say love is just an emotion. If you know wut an infatuation feels like( falling head over heals) then love is a more farstretched meaning than that.

i've never really been in love. but here's how i would portray it:
infatuation: a minor form of love. there's the butterflies, the heart skipping a beat, all that glitter and shine. but chances are, you won't be in 'love' with this person for your entire life.
love: this begins w/ an infatuation but grows to become much, much more. it's a feeling that can't really be told.. it's an experience thing i guess. and you'd do anything for the person you loved.

Love is when your heart skips a beat when you see them. When they leave, you smile to yourself and think of every moment you spent with them. When you want to spend every minute with them until you're sick of it. Love is when you want them to know you like them but you pretend you're trying to hide it when you're not. When you want them to find out themself. Its when you like them to say I'll wrap myself up as a present and give myself to you. Or when you want them to say here, you can have my house key. When you want to stand ontop of a building and say You love them. When you want to jump of a building to show what you'd do for them.

Infatuation is just when you like being in a relatioship because of the feeling, not the person.

Well I believe that you can't be in love by yourself. It needs more than one person. However else you look at that, and it's absolutely pitiful to love someone and not have them love you back. I should know.

If you've never been in love then you can't really answer, and even if you have (and I have) its still pretty hard to explain. Love is when you realize the other person isn't perfect, but its those imperfections that make them who they are, and lets face it, you love who they are. You see them in a way no one else does, and you understand them in a way no one else does either. It's when you've found the one person you really would do ANYthing for, and oftentimes your own self interest takes a back seat, and you want to do what's best for them. You are willing to sacrifice things like your own happiness if it makes them happy, but it never comes to that because they want to make you happy too (this does take two people, yes)and feel the same things about you. Love changes your whole life, and makes you want to better yourself and just be a better person. I could go all day like this but I think I'll stop XD.gif

I'm pretty sure, though, we all know infatuation is a lot different than that. It's of course not NEARLY as strong.
