I just got outta CHINESE 101 (mandarin) and man, i just wanna vent.

I don't know any chinese, and its hard learning a new language. And for chinese, learning how to write and memorizing how to read is the biggest challenge, and they go SOOOoo fast....

We started lessen 3 yesturday, and we don't even have the lessen 2 test till tomorrow. Blah... And I'm not doing so well on the tests either... _dry.gif

cry.gif Just sad. And there's already kids that are natively chinese or learned chinese from thier parents, and they come in for an easy "A". It makes the kids who learn chinese as a new language look bad... Jeez, at least I should get partial credit for some answers I get partially right. ... wacko.gif

lol

yeah, chinese and english are using 2 different systems
so if you are foreigner, it's really hard to learn Chinese at first
but if you try harder to study, you will find that Chinese is not as hard as you expected...

Hmmm I can understand how chinese can be really hard. Even though I speak it fluently for the most part, I still can't read and write. chinese is just one of those langugages that is super hard cuz there are a million different characters and all of them mean a different thing. Well I hope you do well in that class..juss study hard and get extra help from friends!!!

Yeah I'm taking Spanish.
Boy Jimmy...chinese 101.

=\
That seems so tough. I hope you do well though. It's especially harder than Spanish because there are so many different characters and ways to say a certain thing.
=\
But in the long run you're learning more about a language and that's always a plus.
=D

I went to chinese school for eight years and they taught us how to write, read, blah blah blah in cantonese and mandarin. Cantonese was my first language, so that was kinda easy, but mandarin was SD GKJFSDLJKLDFDFKHDFJHJKDFH >___<. I quit because it wasn't teaching me sh*t.

gahh i just transferred from a different school district, so when i found out the school had Chinese, i wanted to take it because well, i'm Chinese and can't read or write anything pinch.gif . so the counselor saw i was speaking Chinese to my dad and signed me up for Chinese 2. (i'm a freshman) so i found out it was too hard so i dropped the class and got Chinese 1. it's ridiculously lame!! i understand what they say, so when they read, i don't bother looking at the paper and just repeat what the teacher says, so i can't read or write it too well still.. haha so stupid of me wacko.gif there are always a few non-Asian kids in Chinese, so when i was in Chinese 2 (before i dropped out), there was this Mexican dude who spoke/read/write Chinese better than me or any of the other people.. haha it was cool so kudos to him tongue.gif

yes, it is annoying, but helpful.
