Talib Kweli - The Beautiful Struggle, Who has it?

Dope CD. The only bad things I have to say about it is "Lonely People" wasn't cleared, the song "We got the Beat", and that artists that have a strong debut such as Jay-Z (Resonable Doubt) and Nas (Illmatic) and Talib (Reflection Eternal) always set a too high standard. I think Quality was a little better but I'm sure in a couple of weeks/months Beautiful Struggle will surpass Quality.

My favorite songs were "Going Hard", "Broken Glass" sick neptunes beat, "Aroung my way" with john legend, "Ghetto Show" with common + anthony hamilton, and "Black girl pain" love the beggining of that song. Surprisingly, I didn't like "I try" that much.

I'm surprised that there weren't any songs with Mos Def but I respect that it's a solo album. And Mos Def's album is dropping October 8th if im not mistaken/his album doesnt get pushed backj again.

It's just one of those albums that you can listen to every song.

PLEASE DONT JUST SAY "I DONT LIKE RAP". IF YOU PLAN ON DONING THAT YOU MIGHT AS WELL LEAVE. _smile.gif THANK YOU.

Is it better than Train of Thought/Reflection Eternal and Blackstar?

Yo, does anyone know when volume 2 of both of these CDs are coming out, because I heard they might. Actually the next Blackstar album should be Mos Def, Talib, and Hi-tek on all the beats. That would be RIDICULOUS, AMAZING, ORGASMIC.

nothing will ever be better then reflection eternal IMO. just like how nothing of Nas will evre be better then Illmatic and nothing of Jay will ever be better then Resonable Doubt. but still a good album nonetheless. The blueprint to Jayz and the Stillmatic to nas is like The Beautiful Struggle to Talib. Great albums but cant really touch the classic, in this case Resonable Doubt, Illmatic, and Reflection Eternal, respectably

and yes if the next blackstar album is like that, that would be amazing.

I've heard nothing but great reviews for it from my friends. I'm thinking of copping it myself.

I'm definately picking up the Mos Def album tho. Unless anyone wants to buy it for my for my birthday (Oct. 11). wink.gif

i bought it. i download lotsa albums but i feel this one is worthbuying. its great. read my other thread about it. the neptunes produced "Broken Glass" is FIRE. the lyrics are good and the beat is hot. its not a club banger its more of a serious song. the beat reminds me of grindin'. listen to it if you dont believe me.

and yall need to go cop the album.. if theres one artist worth supporting its talib

A CLASSIC IMO.... great great album... I've had the advance since February and they changed up a lotta sh*t... the Neptunes track is a banger... he talks real sh*t over a SICK club beat

that's Kweli's 3 classic on four albums... how many MC's can claim that!?!?!

Reflection Eternal, Blackstar, and now Beautiful Struggle (IN MY BOOKS)

Quality was a near classic IMO as well.... this du's bananas... jus' gotta go fix up the flow cuz at times he'll put too many words in a bar and it ends up extending past the loop... iss all good though... sh*t's sick!!! cop it, we need more people supportin' the cause (DOPE MUSIC SELLIN!)

Beautiful Struggle is hot but I don't think Beautiful Struggle is a classic. I mean when you set such a standard with Reflection Eternal, Quality and Beautiful Struggle can't touch that. I think Quality is better then Beautiful Struggle IMO. After a week/month/year I might think Beautiful Struggle is better. Every song is hot except for "We got the beat".

and i already made a topic about this.

yup, Lonely People woulda been a classic for the ages... the lyrics are profound as hell and the beats RIDICULOUS (a Kanye West classic)

nah, and they took out Supreme as well, don't forget that (Mos Def and Kweli collaboration)

Beautiful Struggle's a classic though... the material is brilliant and what he talks about is deep and real as f*ck... we need more MC's like Kweli... watch for me (though my style is punchlines and conscious sh*t like his)

nah, I don't think Quality's a classic but a near one... I think Beautiful Struggle's as good as Reflection Eternal but Reflection Eternal had more tracks... that's the only lacking compared to Reflection Eternal.... but a brilliant album from my second favorite MC ever... I even love "We Got the Beat"

embracing the search button is always good.

The Beautiful Struggle is one of the best albums I've heard.

Black Girl Pain and Around My Way were two of my favorites from this CD.
