I have an AMD XP Athlon 2400+ that runs at 2ghz supposedly, but when i goto the system window in the control panel, it says i have an amd athlon running at 933mghz. How can i fix this so it can say 2ghz; my computer is feeling a little laggy.

AMD Athlon™ XP
933mhz

Thank you, for any help or advice.

P.S: I've run the SISoftware utility benchmark and it states my cpu is running at 933mhz also......so my computer is under achieving. -.-

make sure you have the proper cooling equipment too. they heat up pretty fast.

yes as many ppl want to overclock i wouldnt, they tend to burn hotter much hotter then a p4 and it they have a much MUCH greater chance in either frying or burning up much faster....... i have an amd 2600+ i let it go the speed it was ment to go and mine works great. instead of uping the processor get more ram :)
