There are no pros. They have a mental disease. It's a sickness. This in my opinion is hardly debatable.

Accept yourselves for who you are.
The yearn to achieve a certain look to satisfy others and popular standards by putting your health in jeopardy, in my opinion, is just plain stupid.
'Nuff said.

i can understand how people can become anorexic. its just a way of thinking. i used to think like that but never to that extent. besides, i like food too much. happy.gif but seriously, i'm against it but i can see sometimes where anorexics are coming from. i think we shouldn't really discriminate against them, but try to help them. its a disease, and not entirely their fault.

What is this pro ana .. you want people to starve themselves .. MORE FOOD FOR YOU .. thats horrible .. you should be ashmed ryfitaDF ..I have ana. My ex bf Matt .. he said I was to fat .. if i lost weight guys would want me .. at that point i was 140 .. and im 13 and im 5'8 .. perfect weight .. and now i eat as little as one person eats in a day in a week. i am so influenced by people who are thinner and i think i am this fat pig .. but i am really not .. but i am .. its very hard. i keep a 'shrine' of 'thinsparation' on my walls. clippings of girls in bikinis and bearly there things and just small skinny girls .. girls and guys with eds just want to be perfect .. and personally .. im going to become thin and beautiful .. or die trying ..

If allowing people to do whatever they want to themselves means killing themselves slowly then that's not good. I know that anorexia can actually lead to weight loss but you can get really sick and you're really weak all the time. When I was in Ethiopia I didn't anything cos I wasn't used to the food which really could have develpoped into anorexia and I'm so thankful that it didn't. I lost a lot of weight and all but it was in an unhealthy way. I was always tired and short of breath and got sick easily and I don't usually get sick. It's so horrible how so many people suppress that you should be so skinny and perfect. It's ok to have admitt it and have someelse tell you how they feel but if they bring it up constantly (like my all of my aunts -_-;;;;) then you're gonna want to do something about.

Anorexia is bad. The end.

It is a disease that leads to the eating disorder. Anorexia is a two sided disorder... mental and physical. The problem with people who have anorexia is that they have a warped view of how they look. No matter how skinny they get they still percieve themselves as fat. Even people with anorexia who are down to skin and bones still think they need to lose more. The warped view these people get leads to the eating disorder [starving] Yeah... as for whether or not I think people should be left alone... I think they need to get help.

I had a very close friend of mine who was anorexic. IT was crazy. She was completely obsessed with food and her weight... but she suffered medical problems because of the anorexia as well. People with anorexia need help... other wise they will starve themselves to death. There are definitely NO PROS TO ANOREXIA.

People do say that cutters have diseases. MENTAL ONES... it's just another different warped view. But that's a WHOLE nother subject.... and I won't go there now... unless it's brought up under a different topic. cause it's off subject for this one.

I wasn't trying to bag on you or anything if you do cut yourself... personally to me that's your perrogative. I won't get into trying to "preach" you anything. I was just responding to what you wrote earlier about people not considering that as also having a disease...

And definitely against ana. There are no benefits. If you've been doing research, you should know that. And if you're considering it, don't.

well anyways i think it's wrong being an anorexic because it can weaken your heart if it doesn't already kill you. my friends' mom died a year ago from a heart attack when she was only 36. her heart was weak because she was anorexic when she was a teenager.

Holy crap.
There isn't anything positive about anorexia.
It's really all cons.
Sure, at the beginning (first stages) they will lose weight, and look good, but once they get too skinny, that "pro" is virtually gone. v.v

I had eating disorders when I was in 4th grade. I knew I had it after realizing what the freak eating disorder is.

Me = Donkey

I was desperate to save money that time, so I chose not to eat. But I learned my lesson, I need food to grow. Hell I badly want to be tall [i'm 5'1 and a half according to my PE teacher..]. Because of this, I'm working on it by eating. And it ain't working because I weigh 92 stubborn.gif I appreciate my body, but I'm not tall. And yet I kept telling to myself to accept it. But heck, I know there is still time to change. And I'm going to use that time.

Most women these days are eager to look like skimpy models. It's ok to dream, but it's not ok if what you are doing right now is too much. I think it's stupid for someone to like being anorexic despite the fact they might have disorders aside from eating disorders. But other people who are anorexic or has eating disorders even though they don't like it [I was one of them] well I can't do anything about them tongue.gif

But honestly, aside from the fact that there is really no debate here...

I may not be talking about eating disorders, but I really can't stand that some women feel the need to starve themselves to look good. Skinny ass girls aren't really that attractive. You need something...

Yes, people should be able to do whatever they want to themselves. They can start smoking, become an alcoholic, and commit suicide. You have complete freedom to do whatever you want. Does it mean it's right? No. IMO, anorexia isn't right because the sight is sickly, the person is sickly, and makes the people around the anorexic sickly.
