My school is a small charter school so we don't have it; but my old school did. I wanted to join but didn't get a chance to.

 i just join this yr so im LET 1, and a private. i looove JROTC, im planning to join drum core soon, and in a few onths im oging to get my blue chord, woot

Wow I cannot believe people don't know what the ROTC is. Well here's the definition.
Reserve Officers' Training Corps program. A scholarship program in which the military pays most of the cost of tuition, fees, and textbooks, and also provides a monthly allowance. In return, scholarship recipients are expected to participate in summer training while in college and fulfill a service commitment after college. Oh here's JROTC. The United States Military's Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, or JROTC, is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline. Its focus is reflected in its mission statement, "To motivate young people to be better citizens." It prepares high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. The program is a stimulus for promoting graduation from high school, and it provides instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, community, and nation. |

My school's JROTC program is hardcore.
We have umm, Drum Corps Marching Band Rifle Team and all the other people who just stand/march in fancy formations. They all love to make a racket after school, with the drumming, yelling, instruments blaring by the basketball courts. Hehe, people who come by get intimidated by all the marching and yelling. XD I'm not in it =/ I don't like military. But the military loves our JROTC! =D The bring over some real army men to the JROTC wing, and they try to get students' numbers for the army! and then the principal finds out and goes and yells at the recruiters. And then the asst Principals and deans join in too!! That was a great day.  MMM...fresh meat for the grinder!

Argh. How come our high school doesn't offer JROTC!?
 I plan on joining a college that offers ROTC, if I don't get into West Point, though. |

i like the jrotc ... our drill team won a buncha stuff last year. =/ i don't really keep up with what they do. but the guys in uniforms on thursdays are really hot.

My school has it, and I'm in it
! Ours is navy, and I must admit, we are pretty damn good. I'm on 3 outta the 5 teams in RO and they are Unarmed Drill Team, YPF (Youth Physical Fitness) Team, and Academic Team. We're well known for our YPF team, because we pretty much take 1st place in every event [sit ups, push ups, 1600 yd run, and 220 yd run] we compete in during field meets (competitions). We're the school that everyone wants to beat. Our drill teams and color guard are pretty good too, but it's YPF is where we're best at. Just last year, we placed first in all the field meets we've competed in, and at regionals, we placed 3rd outta 60 units in our area. We should've placed 1st, but out academic scores were kinda low, and our drill didn't perform as well as we usually do at other field meets. But you know what sucks though? The NJROTC teams are probably the only teams that actually win stuff at school, and we barely get recognized for our achievements. I mean, our football team sucks, our basketball team sucks, our baseball team sucks... you get the idea. If one of those teams actually win a game, it's like one big celebration, and they got cocky, and lose the next couple of games they have... |

my AIR FORCE jrotc corps is cool.. its it 4th year running at our school and we have so much stuff.. its probaly the best thing that happened to our school. lol... we only got 150 something cadets in it so its a pretty nice sized Group.... last year we only had a squadron, this year we have 3.
im a 1st Lt Officer..... LOGISTICS SQUADON DEPUTY COMMANDER! whoo hoo [/sarcasm] Edit: our drill teams kick ***... last year i was on the unarmed drill team (red force yea yea!) and we won so much awards.... we won 1st in everything atleast once the whole year.. we won 2nd in everything atleats once and 3rd in everything at least once.... we always placed on something at every drill meet. by Everything i meant, Regulation (basic drill), Exhibition (the stepping and clapping...), and Inspection (gots to look good).. we always placed for inspection at each one... ok im done.. go TX-20016! |
