the answer is either half full or half empty and it cant be both.

i always thought the glass can be half empty, because its not filled up to its potential or as high as it can go.
but then i realized that a glass is made empty, and that if anything is in it, then its filled. so my opinion is half full.
_smile.gif
i dont really see how this has much to do if you're a pessimist or not, but just wat do you think?

the glass is half empty!!!
i like to think that things aren't as good as it seems, and that there's no point in sugar-coating everything. so yes... the glass is... HALF EMPTY!

I don't see the logic of how this can show whether a person is a pesimist or an optimist. *thinks*

There is no glass. The liquid in this container fills halfway up, filling my content halfway to potential, driving me to insanity, asking for more water.

Heh, I think that it is half-empty.

If you say it's half-full, you're an optimistic (sp?) which means you usually have a positive outlook on things.
If you say it's half-empty, you're a pessimistic.. which means you usually have a negative outlook on things.

i guess i broke the tie. if i want to be smart about it, for me it depends on wether you've been drinking a once full glass (in which case it was be half empty) or if you're pouring water into a once empty glass (in which case it would be half full.
but for simplicity, i voted half full.

i hope that made sense.. it did in my head.

half full, not just because i want to be optimistic, but if you think about it, it has to be half full because with nothing in it it's empty, meaning that when water is added its half full. i guess it works the empty way too. it was full and then it was drank out of making it half empty.

It depends.
Like if the glass was full and then someone drank from it. It would be half empty.
But if the glass was empty and then someone poured vodka...or water...whatever...into the glass then it would be half full.
See?

it definitely depends on the context.

say you have an empty glass of water. you fill it up half-way with water.
the glass is half-full.

say you have a full glass of water. you drink half.
the glass is half-empty.
