Has anyone tried Ouija boards before? What was it like and happened? I want to try one but I'm kinda scared...

If this is against some kind of forum rule or has been posted, someone can close this.

I tried something similar to it back in the 6th grade. My friends wrote the alphabet, A-Z, on a piece of paper, then 0-9 below that. Above the alphabet they wrote yes and no with a heart in the center. Then we proceeded to 'chant' "circle around the heart three times, circle around the heart three times, circle around the heart three times," as we drew a circle with the pencil.

Once we did this our pencil started moving across the paper as we asked the spirit questions. Such as: what is your name? Are you a boy or a girl? etc. So we spoke to the "spirit", LOL we did this in the girl's locker room where someone died supposedly; personally don't know what to think of it. She swore she didn't move her hand, and I know I didn't move my hand . . . so I guess we talked to someone. Man I still remember the dude's name . . . freaky. lol

Well, referring to what Brie said, I guess it can be kinda hard to believe that they're true and all cause they always say "You gotta see it to believe it." tongue.gif

It works for me!
I've done it with 1 person once and then 2 people.
It worked both times, and I know it worked for real, because all of us were barely touching the planchette. (mover) So, yeahhh.

I've seen many stories on the sci fi channel about demons being released and having evil spirits linger in the home after using one.

So, i'm too pussie to use one ahaha.

You guys seem like a paranormal-ish bunch I suppose. Have you guys done anything else to contact a "spirit" besides an Ouija board?

Off topic maybe. ermm.gif

I've tried it a few times... it really does work. It's creepy. blink.gif

Oh yeah, you can make one of your own like someone mentioned above. I made one and used paper as a board and a protractor (sp?) as the pointer thing and it worked.

I always wondered though how they know if it truly is the work of the devil?

About all this devil stuff...I was reading a site and it said that someone actually invented Ouija boards, so I don't think it's actually the devil's work. BUT maybe the devil inspired him to invent it? ermm.gif I don't really know, it's such a mystery. huh.gif

yea... i have played with the quiji board.. but not exactly the game board.. it made it ourselves. And alot of freakin things happened. ONe of my friend who was pregnant... which at that time she didn't know she was pregnant. We contacted a lil boy.. named MoMo. He said his mom killed him.. and that he doesn't feel loved. Anyway, he was telling my friend.. that he's goin to be her son.. she didn't believe it... and he told her that... she's goin to have him in Jan. something. She got freaked out.. and he was like don't be scared "Mommy". blink.gif OMG.. then a couple of months later she DID have a baby boy in Jan. wacko.gif

We used a shot glass to play.. while u are playing.. you'll see the glass is filled with smoke blink.gif
Alot of crazy things happened, when we were playing it.. whatever u do.. DO NOT PLAY IT IN YOUR HOUSE.

I stopped playing with the quiji after i got haunted by one of them.. NO MORE FOR ME pinch.gif

It gets addicting... me and my friends was hooked on it. One time.. they asked for the lotto numbers. But she (the spirit) gave them the daily 3, and they won. They split the money 3 ways (except me, cause i want nothing to do with the money) but that lil girl asked them to promise her something... they have to burn money for her, so she can go free. They didn't make that promise.. and one night when they were sleeping... all 3 of them had a nightmare with a demon in it. They couldn't breathe.. cause it was choking them. pinch.gif When i heard that.. it freaked me out.. my friends had to go to the hospital. I had alot of experience with the quiji board. *shivers* but yea... Don't ever play in or near your house.. cause once u play.. the spirit will stay there for a while. I hate contacting lil kids pinch.gif. Those are the most scariest ones and all they do is want to play with you... and if u dont they get mad pinch.gif

I rather make it.. then buying it.. cause i heard that.. u cant get rid of it. Iono.. that's what my friends told me.. she was trying to get rid of it.. but for some reason it keeps coming back blink.gif

Not surprising that it's addicting cause it's dealing with the paranormal and I'm uber addicted to that. Runon sentence. rolleyes.gif I don't know, maybe when I try it, er IF I try it, I'm just not gonna listen to the spirits. _dry.gif

Yeah, this girl got it for her birthday, and her mom yelled and screamed at us about how we were letting spirits in her house...

QUOTE(lookitskim @ Sep 5 2004, 9:59 AM)

That happened to my mom when she used to read tarot cards. The spirits haunted her like so many times. I swear man she would kill me if she found out I did the Ouija Board.

QUOTE(Stately Lover @ Sep 5 2004, 10:44 AM)
I'm just not gonna listen to the spirits.  _dry.gif

Call me a freak but if you don't listen to them they will haunt you. Also when you want to finish playing this game you gotta ask them for permission to leave and most of the time they won't let you leave, like they'll keep say NO so you have to keep playing; it happened to me and man was that scary. Cause if you don't ask them to stop the spirit will still be wandering. So yeah you kinda gotta listen to them or else . . . it's pretty freaky stuff so don't do it unless you are prepared for what happens next.

The thing I hate is for some people they don't get haunted, but for other people they do. Sucks.

Ohmygosh that's so scary. Well, it figures. I guess you just have to come out strong, and not negative and you'll be alright. Thanks for the tip. wink.gif

I never tried it...I was once when I was 8...
This guy told me if I wanted to play...me, I didn't even know what that was, so I said yes.
We were going to make it out of paper. My sister came in and told me not to...good thing I didn't.
I'm scared of shlit [minus the l], like that.

heres some scientific studies i found:

Some users believe that paranormal or supernatural forces are at work in spelling out Ouija board answers. Skeptics believe that those using the board either consciously or unconsciously select what is read. To prove this, simply try it blindfolded for some time, having an innocent bystander take notes on what letters are selected. Usually, the result will be unintelligible non-sense.

The clinical term is "ideomotor response." You may not realize that you are moving the message indicator, but you are. This is similar to automatic writing, also known as automatism, a well-understood psychological phenomenon. A spirit medium, in years past, would hold a pencil in one hand and pay no attention as it wrote furiously. Some believed that these written messages came from the spirits. Others felt that the messages came from a clever medium. At any rate, most proponents of the Automatism Theory think that it is very possible to move the planchette unconsciously. They claim that the Ouija board opens a kind of shortcut from the conscious to the subconscious mind. Collective automatism occurs when more than one person is operating the board. Automatists sometimes use the Ouija board as a tool for special humanistic psychotherapies as a way to foster growth by releasing ideas from the depths of the inner mind. This was particularly popular during the human-potential movement of the 1960s and 1970s.

Yah I saw this show on TV once where something was similar...You would put out your hand, and use a key or some sort of heavy weight on the end of a piece of string to determine answers. This guy would ask you something you already know, like: "Do you have a boyfriend?" And if the key swung the lengthwise of your palm it was a "Yes." If it swung the other way it would be "No." Afterwards the guy explained that you were subconsciously moving the string and key to the correct answer, since you already knew the answer.

However...a lot of the questions asked on the Ouija board are ones we don't know the answers to...so I don't know if my info helps or not.

You guys seem like a paranormal-ish bunch I suppose. Have you guys done anything else to contact a "spirit" besides an Ouija board?

Off topic maybe. ermm.gif

_unsure.gif um ... yes

we use this chinese porcelien plate/thing and this really really thin piece of paper with all these words on it

the marks on the plate and the words on the piece of paper are all red.

we don't put our hands on it

we put our hand OVER it. so that it moves by itself

NOT. a good thing to try at home
