Listening to music while studying, yes? no? sometimes?

So my mother does not like the idea that I turn on the music really loud while I'm studying. She thinks that it will distract me. In reality, though, I concentrate more when I hear music. I don't know why but I just do. I need to hear some sort of melody playing while I'm doing something to concentrate.

Do any of you need to listen to music to study? Or are you comfortable with it?

sometimes i listen to music while i study...but i'll end up dancing around the room, singing along with my pencil/microphone, lol, so i try not to do it to often. tongue.gif

well...whenever i do my hw, then i listen to music...but if im studyin for finals or something big, i (though tempting) keep myself from listening to music cause it kinda distracts me...my dad doesnt want me to listen to music period sad.gif

Same goes for me unless I'm really concentrating than I can't turn on the music. If it's something else like just reading that has nothing to do with school, I listen to the music. :D

yea all the time, and i watch tv to help me concentrate ( on the tv ). then i find out the next day that i had a fail on my assigment beacue i never finished it.

it's odd.. like.. people's minds get stimulated by different things..
i heard that there's this one girl who concentrates best when she smells a certain scent.. so one time during a test, she put her wrist to her nose and a teacher thought she was cheating... but actually, the girl was just sniffing the scent. that jogged up her memory and all...
so.. does that mean i need the music turned on while taking a test..? blink.gif

My parents have an issue with me playing music while I'm studying, or even doing homework. Concentrating with music isn't really a problem with me, it's when I'm typing a paper or whatever that I get distracted. By AIM. cool.gif

I basically do everything while studying/homework..

I usually chew gum or eat (gum actually makes u remember things)
Talk on the ohone
Sit on the computer
HAve the tv on, but on mute
Listen to music.
And well study..
Over here the tests are madd easy and we brwely get homework, so im all set.. lol.. biggrin.gif

I normally do my work or studying listening to music. It doesn't always work but sometimes it does. Help me concentrate in a way.
