I suck in my tummy to look thinner.
will this affect anyother aspects of
my body? like, will it destort my ba-
ck--»¿?¿ sad.gif Also, I cant stand f-
or lond periouds of a time, becasue
my back and legs realy start to hu-
rt. Please tell me. I'm a little worr-
ied. and, one more thing...how can
other people tell you suck it? cuz i
was with my couson at the pool an
d she said "why are you sucking in
, niine?" and im like "oh...i'm just
cold." and ever cents then i have
been wondering how she knew!

she knows cuzz when you suck in your stomach it only work on the top part of your stomach not bottom or she knows that your not that skiny lol happy.gif

umm maybe u shud only suck it in when u feel concious.. cause my cousin sucks her tummy in like when she doesnt feel good about it, and so do i, i must admit. but most of the time, mine is a bit out there, and i just let it be, cause what do u have to hide?
only when you feel like you need to then, suck it in, is all i can tell you to make ur back or watever be in less pain. _smile.gif

if ur soo worried bout ur look change it... do some running and light weight lifting to build muscle to burn fat. i used to b kinda chubby but runnin n weight lifting helped me build mass to burn fat... im not a grl tho so iono if this will work for u

Yeah if you're so self-conscious about showing your tummy, do something about it. Crunches really help. 50 a day will do and maybe some running. You'll do fine.

yea. i have actauly been trying that latley, i do 40 crunches, i dance to music, i jump rope. also i have been dyetting.

It's hard for me to suck it in cause if I ever do that to my tummy, u can see my ribs... so it looks scary.. ph34r.gif Bleh plus, I eat and when I eat my tummy gets bigger, thus i cannot suck in my stomach anyways =X

well it won't hert u or anythin cuz like i hafta when i do ballet cuz well all dancers do, but when u suck in people can tell somtimes cuz alot of people get tence in there uper body. i don't think u should tho u know if ur that self consious bout ur body then maby u should work out or somthin. sry sry sry if that sounds mean i don't mean it in a bad way i just think that if people don't feel confortable with there body then they sould do somthin bout it or learn to love it!

If you perfect it, you can suck in the bottom of your stomach. You just have to practice a lot.

I think she knows because when you suck in your stomach, your chest and ribs pop out more and it looks like you're hunched over. I also think the reason why your back might start hurting is because you're hunched over...you might be sucking in too hard...

i used to suck in all the time, i think i got quite good at it. its not the "sucking in" part, its more like tightening your ab muscles to make your stomache look flatter.

if you wanna "suck in" better... do crunches or something. i dunno. i'm not self-conscious about that crap anymore. anyways, everyone always involuntarily "un-sucks in" their stomache when they aren't thinking about it. so thats probably how your cousin knew you were sucking in.

so... yeah.

and i am working out. but, i just started like, a week agao and havent been getting results (wich, i know thats not gonna happen) so, untill i get somthing, i don kno what 2 do...

Don't think so _smile.gif I've read in some magazine that you can make your tummy smaller if you suck it in for 5 seconds, 10 times a day. Not sure if that will work tho. Too lazy to try it _dry.gif

Oh honestly. I read a magazine that actually suggested sucking in as a method of strengthening your muscles. Why the f**k would it deform your back? If anything, it's reshape stomache, which would be a positive, no? But perhaps it's causing the deformations in your typing? Because it's a bit odd, really. Anyway, ignore most people in this topic (at this point, i suppose I'm referring to anyone to whom this applies, since this topic is old, yeah?) because they don't seem to know what they're on about. There's absolutely nothing wrong or abnormal about sucking in, and it doesn't even make sense to think it'd be damaging.

yea just diet, run and lift. i play football and im an o-lineman. before the season i was 280 at 5'10". (a healthier 280 than you think) and during the season i was 270. so at new years i made my resolution, get thinner, build even more muscle, and play fullback in college. well, im 240 now, thats 30lbs in about 7 weeks. not bad eh? the thing is, when you diet, dont quit, you can not do that, you might see that the scale says you lost 2lbs in one week, but you still are lowering your body fat %, so never quit even if the weight goes down slowly.

And at first it is kind of tough, but after a few weeks, the hunger aspect and pain from excercising passes, and you will cruise. Believe me, it works, i cut down my diet, i got in the weight room (which i have to do anyway for college football, so thats nothing new, just off season training) and i get on the treadmill and run about a mile and a half or 15 minutes every other night. not too bad, i enjoy it.

And believe me, its nice, b/c i have gotten compliments from EVERYONE about how good i look now, its a pretty good motivater, and wouldn't it be nice not to have to worry about that anymore? dont suck in, just get determined to look better. I'm determined to look better, and my biggest reason for doing this is that i want to play fullback in college, that is like my dream right now, and so far, things are in order.

P.S. I want to get down to about 200-210. when i do, ill be sure to post pics somewhere with a diary type thing. thanks for listening, bye.

The reason why sucking in your tummy is obvious is because it kinda widens your stomach not in fat wise but it looks like your curves are widened out. Just diet and excercise. No need to suck in any stomachs.
