hmmm.. I have never heard of anybody getting abs in one month. if it was that easy, I think everybody would be walking around with six pacs. happy.gif like said many times before.. when you do alot of reps, you build your endurance. the most important part of getting your abs to show is your diet. what are you eating? how often are you eating? are you counting your calories?

you say that you workout everyday. how do you expect to see gains like that? you're most likely overtraining, and losing whatever gains that you might have gotten when you first started. you should give yourself rest days so your body could recover and rebuild your muscles.

don't worry about your parents not buying you those ab things. they don't work anyways. when people that use them get results, it's from the extra diet information that it gives you when you buy the product. when I work out my abs I use an ab wheel. it works wonders. it looks like this. nothing fancy, it's just a wheel with a stick through the middle. I hope that helped a little.

OK this should help you alot..
Sit ups tone your abs but they dont make them bigger
You should try this..

Hollow Holds- lay down flat on the ground and elavate your feet 2-3 inches off the ground. Make sure your hands and arms arent touching the ground. Put your hands by your sides but DONT TOUCH YOUR BODY!!

500 sit ups are a waste, unless yer gonna be using stomach muscles ALOT, they're not gonna get u abs for awhile....hollow holds are ok, my team uses them but i dont recommend them cuz they kill yer back...yer abs are just like any muscle in yer body, use weight resistance to build it...put like a 25lb weight on yer chest and do sit ups, maybe like 3 sets of 40-50 a day and you'll get them faster than all the other techniques

and i dont think anyone here really jogs 3-4 miles a day

yeah, if he only wants ab endurance

abs are a muscle like any other...they need resistance training to grow...do 3-4 sets of 10-15 reps, holding something as weight when they get too easy

do them NO MORE than 3x a week, muscles grow when resting

and abs will obnly show in most people <12% bf

Seeing your abs is really about your diet and not about how many times a week you work them. Besides, squats and deadlifts and those movements work abs and core muscles hard. For each ab exercise do 15 - 25 reps. Take three secods on the way up and four on the way down. If you don't think this is harder than doing 50 reps try it once. I never use added resistance when I train abs because I dont want a big blocky look. I also like to think of being a boxer. Breathe out all your air at the peak contraction and hold it at the top, tightening everything like your going to get hit in the gut, before inhaling and coming back to the start. Make sure to add variety to your ab exercises. A lot of people dont realize that just one exercise for most body parts simply won't cut it, unless you want a simple looking body with simple look muscles. Aerobic training also help your abs become more visible.

Also, remember that you have to have low body fat for your abs to show. If you're flabby, no matter how much muscle there is underneath it won't be visible.

I've had a flat stomach for over 6 years, and you wanna know my secret?

Do ya....?

DO YA?!?!?!?!

Okees! I do 'bout 500 - 1000 different ab exercises bout 5-6 days a week.

But since you are probably not at that stage yet tongue.gif here are some tips to getting started.

1) Focus on the form and breathing, not how many you do. I need to do so many because my stomach is so strong, it takes that many to start feeling a burn. So the trick to getting the burn soon is to exhale and hold when you're flexing your abs. 20 properly done crunches are more effective than 150 sloppy crunches. Trust me.

2) Regular sit-ups, crunches, will only target specific areas of your stomach. So you need to have a variety of exercises to target the entire abdominal area and get the stomach you want. Here I've included a couple of the exercises that target the hardest-to-get-toned areas of your stomach.

A) Oblique crunches - Targets: Sides of your stomach. Start by laying on your side. Prop your head up with your hand, your elbow touching the floor. Put your other arm with the hand touching the top of your head, so it makes a ->- shape. Now, take your outermost leg and raise it up to about a 60 degree angle, raising your arms and head up with it. MAKE SURE YOU EXHALE WHEN YOU DO THAT! Hold it for about 3 seconds, then slowly lower back down to resting position. Do that 10 times for that side, then switch sides. Do that move for 2 reps each side.

B) Forgot-The-Name-Of-The-Move-But-Oh-Well - Targets: Lower Abs. This is the hardest area to target, and this is the only move I do that really tones your abs in this area. Lay down on the floor. Raise your legs about 6 inches off the ground, and flex your stomach. Slowly raise your legs up to form a 90 degree angle. Exhale, and slowly lower your legs back down to the resting position (6 inches above the ground.) Yeah, it sounds killer. And it is. Which is why you need to start off with 1 rep of 20 a day.

Start off doing these about 4 times a week. Remember, you can do as many crunches as you want, but if you have no cardio in your work-out, your effort will go to waste. So make sure you're doing some sort of cardio 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week, to see minimal results. Also, make sure you're drinking PLENTY of water! You'd be surprised how much faster you get abs when you drink water happy.gif

Hopefully that will help you out a bit. If you got anymore questions, please feel free to ask me. Good luck!

Im going to be honest...some guys are just born with good shaped abs! You don't need abs to inpress girls, if thats what you want them for. Because if you work out like you say you do then your in shape and thats all that matters... The person has to like you for you not what you look like...remember that

Um, yeah, that is true. Better that your heart is in good shape than your stomach :)

abs are just like every other muscle, there is no point in overworking your abs. you should exercise everything the same. first if you have any fat on ur stomach, u need to eat a healthy diet(most important with abs) and do lots of cardio. and then you do an ab routine, but there is no point in doing 500 whatever, just work them out like u do every other muscle.

I'm cutting back on sodas and all the junk food. I eat salads and stuff and completely avoid fast food and fattening stuff, any other dieting tips?

if you want abs, you need to do cardio. you could have a great set of abs and have it covered in a layer of flab!! dont overwork and do like 1000! slowly work your way into it. like first do 100, then 200, etc.

That's bullshit advice. It's a common misconception that there's a layer of flab over the abdomen. The only way to get a six-pack is to lower your overall percentage of body fat.

Best thing to do is eliminate all drinks from your diet and and replace them with water. Run for around 30 minutes 3x a week and eat healthy.

First off, crunches and situps are different. Its easy to do 100 situps. And it would take forever to get abs doing that. I have abs and i think crunches are way more effective.

i mite also add.. do weighted full sit ups... crunches are useless after 2 weeks... and dont buy those ab machines they are a wasteee

this is wut i do:
-20 min running daily on treadmill
-pyramid style weighting situps

i.e.
2 sets of 20 with a 35lb weight and body weight
2 sets of 15 with a 45lb weight and body weight
2 sets of 10 with a 55lb weight and body weight
2 sets of 5 with a 65lb weight and body weight
1 set of 10 with 55lb weight and body weight
1 set of 15 with 45lb weight and body weight
1 set of 20 with 35lb weight and body weight

i do that every otha day as of right now... u can increase the weight accordin to ur strength...
