He dissapointed many people with his worldwide broadcast news.

Why is new jersey so corrupted? wink.gif

Whether he resign or not is his choice... I think it's already tough to face public scrutiny but now he has to deal with coping his family to the situation.

I don't think being homosexual is the legitimate reason for his resignation, but the fact that he committed adultery.

he should've stayed on. despite the fact that he cheated on his wife w/ another man, but in this day & age of flauntingly-blatant sexuality, that's small beans. if he's gonna come out, he should have the courage to stay in office& try to work it out with the ppl.

besides, its not just nj that's corrupted. for all we know, there could be MANY other gay gov, councilmen, etc in office, but they havent the courage to 'come out of the closet'

I agree...they might be afraid to come out because of the fact that it'll affect their career and of course how people see them. He shouldn't resign because of that, but it's his choice after all.

he should resign being openly gay is immoral just like admitting you are thief or a liar. he should resign before november, God forbid, a republican could win a fair election.

I agree. Its something that's perfectly normal and shouldn't be criticized or prejudiced just because it's different.

I heard he resigned because he had a boyfriend from Israel and appointed him head of a 9/11 security thing or something when the guy wasn't qualified. That's what I heard . . . could be a rumour or something. I'll try to find an article for you guys.

Is it fine to set the example for the entire state of New Jersey that cheating on your spouse, especially if it's with the same gender, is acceptable?

No -- he was wrong, and he knows it.

The quote listed below is an excerpt from the New Mexican Magazine. Listed in bold is what I was talking about earlier in this topic.

QUOTE
The "former government employee" referred to in this article was appointed the NJ Director of Homeland Security by McGreevy -- a $100,000 job. He didn't pass muster, being both an Israeli and having no experience. Many politicians, Democrate and Republican, have had affairs, straight and gay, and deceived their families and the public -- McGreevy is no exception. I will not judge McGreevy's marriage or his choice in lovers. That isn't my business. But he did put a lover with no experience in a $100,000 state job and there, I believe, he broke faith with the public.

Oh, okay -- well I guess since people cheat on their spouses all the time it's okay then. Let's condone it! No -- it's sets a bad example, and it's a worthy reason for resignation.

You know what's funny highly_evolved?

It's people like you and most of my friends that set such obnoxious double-standards it sickens me.

"Bush is a liar, Bush keeps making mistakes, yadda...yadda..."

Clinton was an outright liar, Clinton made plenty of mistakes (hello, Alex Jones anyone?), and I assume it was peachy for Clinton to attack Iraq, which he did on a regular basis, but for Bush -- it means certain downfall.

Come off it...

Bush is an outright liar. he attacks a country that has no weapons of mass destruction and he says that taht is teh reason we are attacking it. i did not say "Bush is a liar, Bush keeps making mistakes, yadda...yadda..." becasue i have points to why bush is an outright liar.you on the other hand are a idealistic and narrow minded. you for some reason thinkt hat its ok to have apresident who attack countries when the reason is not good enough.

I hope you know that British and Russian Intelligence also said that there were WMDs and that you realize it is NOT only the President's decision to go to war but also CONGRESS's as well. And not to mention Kerry supported the war, remember?

Name one President who wasn't a liar. rolleyes.gif

Argh, I got carried away and got off topic, too, snap.

Edit>>> Erm, back to topic: being who I am, I would be disgruntled if I lived in NJ if McGreevy doesn't resign. Why? I don't approve of the fact that he handed his partner in crime his responsibilities.

LOL, I too was about to go off topic . . . but then realized that your question about naming a president who hasn't lied was rhetorical. Or at least I think it was. laugh.gif

laugh.gif LMAO Partner in crime.

Yes I too believe that he should resign. It was pure stupidity giving his partner that job.

tsk tsk...and once again, new jersey is the laughing stock of the nation.

He also resigned because if he was kicked out or uh "impeached" he would have a diffucult time finding a new job. if he resigns early, he can get a job at a private sector.

Also, McGreevy smuggled hundreds of thousands of NewJerseyain's tax money to have a vacation in Peurto Rico, and buy a 300k house for his gay lover to 'buy' his silence. Do I smell corruption?

being gay in his case did affect his work! his boyfriend had a top position although the only qualification he had was how to be seduced by a man.
