yeah, its because asians study harder because of the way their parents raised them (like how they were raised back in asia). and out parents force us to take extra SAT classes and other classes to do better in school

hMM...i dont really feel that way here. the majority of hawaii's population are asians. so there are hardly anytimes when i see someone glaring at me or stereotyping me.

im not asian, so i dunno, but my asian friends are smart, but i know a lot of asians who arent so smart (although that migh have something to do with the drugs...ehem) i think that they consider all asians to be overpressured japanese because traditionally their culture makes them try harder and be pressured into good grades by their parents. am i right? so i think its mostly because of that

Schools in the Asian part of the world have set their standards higher than normal American school standards. That's one reason. Since the schools in Asia have such nice and high standards, they have well trained teachers as well.

Yes, they all think I'm smart...geez but it's only because I have the vocabulary and the English to fool them. What sucks is that sooner or later they realize and they start saying "At first I thought you were smart." That makes me feel stupid -_-.

Greetings!!

thankfully, da education system here in singapore has been flexible enuf and da government has introduced changes to it's policies and such. for now, we dun have to worry much if we dun really excel academically but excel in da arts. thing is, we are welcoming da idea of arts and stuff into mainstream education and all. plus, for slower students who had difficulty in catching up wit their more 'smarter-inclined' classmates, the thought of feeling isn't da same as it was years back. so i would say, things have changed here and there and it's all good i must say!!

oooo I hate it. People think that just because i graduated early i'm Smart but in Texas it's not all about being smart it's just about earning and gaining credits just like in college you have to make a grade to get credits. as long as it's above a B or C depends what class...but in high school every one thinks that Asians are freaking SMART not all of them, and i feel so left out because i'm not smart.
