She had heard too much.

As she walked away, he grabbed her arm and told er to stay, he said,
"You're not pretty, your beautiful. I don't want to be with you forever, I need to be with you forever. I wouldn't cry if you walked away, I would die."

A lot of sad love stories like this always tell us that you should always tell the person you love that you love them. Cause no one, not even you, knows when the person you love with all your heart will be taken away from you by nature, someone, or something else.
