I use it too. It alright but now i started using a expansion called AIM expansion which has tons of features like idler and icon thingy.

Yea me too! I agree lol. But the only thing that I can't figure out is.... I heard that you are able to put up an away message and still talk to people when u use dead aim.. is that true? And if so, how does it work? I also used dead aim 4.5 but i don't know everything about it.. bleh ><

Yeah I use it. I like the tabbed windows, keeps everything more organized and less cluttered.

Yup, I use it. But it won't let you link sns like regular AIM, you have to clone AIM which makes two buddy lists and two seperate windows instead of just one..But the tabbed windows are nice! ^^

i used to use dead aim but then it got on my nerves cuz it was so difficult to change the colors of the font in the profile. but the tabbed windows were so much more convenient than the regular AIM windows which kind of bother me now >.< oh well.

However, if your are looking for other Chatting/AIM convenience programs that ARE Free, then heres a small list.

Do not download "Zango" This program, although might havbe the functions like the ones above, it is also spyware/adware/malware. So don't download it. The "Others" are basically multichat programs, that also versatillity, control, and much more over the standard Aim and other applications. I think the last two are for Microsoft Windows Only. I know for sure Miranda is, but I think Trillian is too. However, because Miranda is free, they do give you the source code, (All, if not most freeware/source projects give you the source) so it is possible for you to run it on Linux. You might run it on OSX/Mac, but you have a better chance compiling it and running it on Linux. This is a screenshot of it running on Linux. Don't let the Wallpaper fool you. (Or atleast I think It's running on Linux. Either way it's not Windows.Not sure. But, Gaim works on almost ALL platforms, that I know. There might be another one called, Konqurer? Or is that the web browser? I'm not sure, it came with Kubuntu though. Although Gaim is much better, this is alright too.

just use GAIM... you can use MSN, ICQ, AIM, Yahoo etc... all in one. No advertisements no pop ups... not annoying messages, and you have full control of your GAIM.
