As you can see I have my banner deleted, yes I heard and read the post that says why we should leave it on, and leave it along, but as you can see Xanga is a blog or journal site which where you write your most recent things or just some of you memories, or even your most private stuff (like I did before), but whats the point of putting a ad there? I know is hard to keep a site up for free while there is millions (I duno really know) of people join... if I was the webmaster I'll make it too but since there is "Xanga Premium" already then whats with the ad??? maybe there is too little poeple sign up for "xanga permium" but you have to understand that there is about 40% of xangans is student (like me) how could we effort to pay when we still gets money from our parents.
And as all teenagers (younger or older) are mostly alike we don't want banners mostly because we have had enought of banners from our websites. We hate it as much as we hate spammers, as I say before Xanga is a blog or journal site which where you write your most recent things or just some of you memories, or even your most private stuff we don't need a banner on top of our diary (my friend call it diary, thats why his not using it), yes I know there is some banner in diarys (is it?) and you guys are comfertable (I think) but this is not diary (no matter how many times my friend says it) well maybe it is.... I really not sure, and if Xanga really have a financial problem then I think they should post a news about it... and maybe some of the xangans have the money to help. |

CJ1, don't spam....and eternal, I don't think Neron's a bad name at all! Now that I read your post, I've been converted to your way of thinking. ^^;;
Although...If you were the webmaster and didn't have these ads, how would you be able to earn profit out of it besides asking members to go to premium? It wouldn't be a wise decision to take it away AND if it were a just a blogging site, why would members care?! They'd only be writing posts and others would read them, no biggie. But then again...it's annoying... So much about the convertedness.....I'm neutral.... |

The ad isn't that big of a deal... but then again, who ever clicks it anyway? (except by mistake)... I'm not sure, though.. right now I have the ad up... although, I somewhat agree with you, eternal-d... but I did say I was going to keep the ad up and just leave it alone on the other post... So, I'm leaving it... but maybe you should think about it... It's not that big of a deal to you, is it? It's just a little banner... I may sound hypocritical... because I, too, want to take it off.. but hey, at least I take other's profit into consideration..

i agree with you. if someone has the resources to remove the ad, if they put enough time into their xanga to research and remove, then by all means i think it's fine. my banner is still up however, because i've been having trouble removing it. are they eliminating the codes or sumthing.

Who really cares about the ad to begin with? Does it add that much of a distraction from your blog entry? In that case make your entries more EXCITING. If not, just join another blog network. I'm pretty sure there are many out there. Or even create your own webpage. "Well, people won't visit my page as much then." If that's your issue, don't you think you owe xanga some gratitude for making it so easy for people to access your page. I think they deserve a banner if they want one there. Heck if I was the creator of xanga and I came upon a site without one, I'd just ban your IP forever. Do something creative with the banner...I tried.
