so right now i have about 32 bites in total all over my arms and legs. at first i thought it was mosquitos since i sleep with my windows open, but my friend at work scared me into thinking they were bed bugs (she kept pointing at some and going "breakfast, lunch, dinner" sad.gif ). so i got super paranoid and was scared to go to bed. it was too late at night to buy 91 proof alcohol since the rite aid around here was closed.

anyways, i woke up to intense itching and FOUND A MOSQUITO on the wall and killed it! so it's a mosquito! not bed bugs!

right?

RIGHT?!

anyways, what do you guys do to get rid of the itch? any home remedies?

i like using salt.

I got bit up last night too and my mom told me to put deodorant on them. It worked better than alcohol ever has....not exactly sure why.

i think salt or hot water might help from what i've been told. my legs are messed up because i always had the urge to scratch the bites, plus somewhere the bugs always decided to go for my blood instead of everyone elses. now it's so bad, you can literally play connect the dots on my legs.

If you have mosquito bites, calamine lotion is the best way to soothe the itch. You can also apply witch hazel. Another remedy is to mix some sugar with water... or a put a chilled, brewed tea bag on the bite. Tooth paste works too.

Apparently the Native Americans would use mud to soothe the itch.. so if you have nothing handy and you're outside you could always try that... but if you have a clay mask handy... might be worth a try.

I got only maybe 3-4 mosquito bites this year. and they were usually on my arms/back so they didn't bug me as much (I f*cking hate when I have them on my legs)

it's not that bad. just go to the doctor. i used to get itchy rashes every summer from bugs or eating wrong combination of food (said the doctor). i have so many scars because i normally have to scratch or pick at it until i see blood.

When you say "they're all over NYC news," do you mean how they were shutting down movie theaters because of bed bugs? I was reading about that somewhere. Been to the movies lately?

^ Yikes

This is what happened to my arm after a nasty spider bite last summer. There was venom streaking up my arm (red veins). The skin in the center had mild necrosis. It was a total nightmare. I had to take steroids and antibiotics.

I have ridiculous reactions to bug bites.
