Been ready since last year... Donovan is gonna shit all over England.

I'm also gonna follow Germany since Bayern is my favorite team.

I am. I'm very excited for Germany. The only team I actively follow is Bayern Munchen but I'm familiar with a lottttttttttt of German teams. Some players like Muller and Gomez - pro ass strikers. Butt might end up being the German keeper after his kickas performance this year.

I also want to see the Dutch team do well, like a lottttttttt of their players.

Donavan is a piece of shit. In general the Americans aren't nearly as skilled as the rest of the world and tend to chip the ball into the goal area and hope someone bumps into it the right way to score. What the American team has over the rest of the world, however, is expert conditioning. No one has the endurance like we do lolz.

I personally hope the Dutch team does well too, but I really don't get all into soccer. Compared to how I used to be at least.

The Germans.
Then the Dutch.

The Dutch are looking pretty badass right about now, especially with people like Robben and Van Bommel.

Ronaldo is a bitch who likes to flop
Ronaldinho is good / excellent with footwork but overrated when it comes to his consistency / abilities
Franck Ribery stole the ball from Rooney hahaha <3 Ribery but they had him lose it to Rooney because Rooney is a bigger name

It's better than having a barrage of updates on FB for people 'rooting' for one of the two teams when they know jack shit about either team. I can understand Mexicans rooting for Mexico, but what does a fobby gamer who I know for a fact doesn't watch/play soccer like so much about South Africa?

Ahahahah last cup w/ France. I like some of the Frenchies, love Ribery. That's probably because he plays (maybe played soon) for Bayern Munchen. I'm pulling for the Germans / Dutch. The Dutch will probably annihilate the first three games then f*ck up when it matters. That seems to be their thing.

lol, brief me on your favorite teams/those who actually have a chance at winning! I've read the rundown on most of the teams, but I still don't know who's actually any good. And I've heard that Brazil, Spain, and Argentina seem to be the big favorites.

I was skimming Time's summary of the World Cup teams, and I wanted to say, I'm shocked that North Koreans are playing at all. I don't know if anyone here is aware of the atrocities happening in North Korea, but here's a link for you all to check out. I wish I could say I were kidding about how it really is like a living 1984 over there.

They won't be playing for long though.

That isn't the point; it's that I can't believe the NK government will participate in something like this but continue to commit genocide and other human rights violations against North Koreans even as I type. Their government has been corrupt for so long, and it frustrates me even more that there's so little awareness about it. Check out Seoul Train this summer if you want to learn more; I watched a screening at my school when LiNK Nomads came to Ithaca and was shocked that I hadn't known about it earlier.

You don't know why the Government is participating? It's the same reason every corrupt government tries to participate in the Olympics. They still have pride in their nation. They want to represent their nation. Their brainwashed citizens want to represent their nation. Their brainwashed citizens don't want to disrespect their government. They also want to look civil to the rest of the world. It's a show.

Doesn't bother me. Other games I watch from the Bundesliga, I hear that shit too. It's not new it's just most people don't watch soccer and don't recognize it.

I like Brasil or Portuagal to be on the Championship matchups! Let see whose gonna win, i bet Cristiano Ronaldo gives his utmost skills to goal first.

Spain dominated the ball pretty much all game and had a lot of good chances to score.

Switzerland probably had less than 10 good possessions, but made the most of it.

Germans lost Klose in the first half, Serbians scored right before the first half ended. Germans missed a scoring opportunity (three shots in like 5 seconds one blocked by keeper one hit the top cross bar one got stopped by a defender right before going in) right before the half ended. Early in the second half the Germans missed a would-have-been crucial PK. They played the whole second half with 10 people and no one scored.
