what are some dumb trends you took part in or had the desire to take part in sometime in your life?

i remember when everyone was really into shaving stuff into their hair. people still do this, but for a while when i was a kid it was really popular, esp shaving stuff like nike signs in your hair. i had this whole intricate thing i wanted shaved into my hair but my mom wouldn't let me do it. it was devastating.

Owning a tamagotchi. I remember they were all the rage in the 90's EVERYONE HAD ONE, they would go off in class or in the middle of the night and were very very high maintenance there was no pause or anything for them so god forbid you didn't feed the little bastard before you went to school or whatnot.

I can understand the basic principle of teaching kids responsibility and mild accountability for things like pets but it shouldn't take 10 years later into the game to add a mute feature to the effing thing.

Probably the first trend I really got into was the whole wide-legged jeans/wide-legged cargo pants trend, back when I was in 7th grade (around '98 or '99 or whatever). Up until then I'd hardly cared about trends, but damn, I remember I had to have a pair of wide-legged jeans or I felt my life would be over.

I never got into the Tomagatchie stuff, though. I think it's because my dad was an elementary school teacher and got really annoyed by virtual pets. I never expressed an interest in them, but I feel like my dad would've put a stop to such a desire quick, fast, and in a hurry. And rightly so, those things were annoying.

Uh...I dunno what else. I've had long hair since middle school, but that's more of an anti-trend, so I don't know if it counts.

Yeah, I dunno. I've never been caught up in trends. Maybe I don't watch enough TV.

It was awful when the damn lights finally blew out and my mom wouldn't replace them cause they still fit me and were in good condition still.

Hmm...I don't think this is dumb, but I guess wearing flannel plaid shirts and skinny jeans? I got my first pair of skinny jeans earlier this month; they're purple and fun to wear.

Those bastards are creepy. I think Furbys should be used in guerilla warfare.
