senate rejected a bill to amend the u.s. constitution to ban same-sex marriages, so i wanna know what yall think about gay marriages?...normally i wouldnt be interested in politics but this involves me and this is a serious topic for me... i read that most americans support gay rights but are strongly against same-sex marriages...i dont understand this. its stupid cuz if ur in support of rights then what are u supportin if ur against gay marriages? marriage is a right, so why not allow everybody to have it?

i think it should be allowed in some states so that way if they really wanna get married they can go to places where poeple won't critisize them or anything.

I think gay should have just as much rights as anyone.

and george bush is the gay fag and he is trying to hide it.

i think it should be there choice not anyone elses

btw- wans't there a topic like this in the debate forum...?

I'm for it, I guess, but I don't think they should call it marriage. Something other than marriage, like.. unifying or something.

Why should government be able to restrict how we live our lives? Sure it is against the bible to be gay but since they seperated religion from state, they should have no reason to restrict it. I know a gay couple that I am very close with. They are family members. From what I see, they love and care for each other very much. If they chose to be married or "life partners" that is their decision. They are still human beings and should live their life the way they see fit. So as long as they aren't killing or doing something illegal like stealing, the government should stay out of their lives. I wouldn't be surprised if someone in the senate is gay but he/she is keeping it in the closet because many still view it as taboo. Live your life, people! Be gay and merry. Just don't force it on other people. biggrin.gif

Once more, I must say that you've demonstrated how much you love gay people. I mean, why not use those terms as an insult when you like them so much.

Anyway, I don't have anything against homosexuality, but whether or not they can get married depends on the situation.

lol. i was about to comment about that too. i mean if you do support the gay people, and use the word to insult someone is not very supportive. it's saying that it is a bad thing.

and also there was this other thing about having gay people have their own island. that's segregation... was done to the african americans/blacks are now being done to the gay people. history repeats itself. what's next in the future??? who are they gonna pick on next???

i had a gay instructor at the college that i attend to. he is a theatre introduction instructor. he is christian and he taught us about how the bible has been used to put people against each other. everyone has their own interpretation of the bible. everyone reads a different way. everyone is different. and no one can do anything about that.

i do support the gay people and gay marriage. when i was 7 years old and coming to the united states, i remember my mom telling me that the united states is a free country. and as the years go by and i'm living here in the US learning about the history and what not... i see how much freedom we do have (sarcastic). if this is a free country why shouldn't we have our own rights to do what we wish. why is it that rights have to be taken away from us because we're different? we are all humans and we all have feelings. just different feelings.

i'm sorry for the long reply this is a very serious topic for me. i'm just sick and tired of the descrimination that's still going on today, even though they say it doesn't go on anymore... it still does.

gay marriages cant and dont exist.. marriage is a very holy act and is even one of the 7 sacrements. and gays go against procreation so... gay and marriage is kind of an oxymoron.

If they do that then they have to wait to be a citizen and then they must stay in that state for it to be recognized... so as you can tell i am for it but hey they should not use it aginst them and i agree ith who ever said HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF... but as ANTI-Flag says Everything mass media and so on is controled my consevative s... and Segragation needs to be left out some people are just so freaking ignorant about other rights...
