How many of you guys celebrate Christmas? My mom already has two trees up at her house and still wants to decorate more. My family used to have a lot of traditions, but now that we don't all live under one roof we kind of do our things.

Do you have family traditions around this time of year? Do you go all out and decorate, or could you really care less?

Share with me. seasonal0.gif xmas.gif

I don't really celebrate Christmas. I think it's sort of sad to set one day aside to spend time with all the family and give presents. People can spend time with their family everyday and everyone can be in that jolly mood whenever.

I like the sales and everything, but I'm kinda tired of Christmas. Same tree, same songs, judt same everything.

I love Christmas time. The decorations, songs (to a certain extent), lights, everything. I think what I love the most is when we bring our Christmas tree home. I loooove the smell. Brings back so many memories. We don't really have any traditions though. Or well... my family doesn't celebrate Christmas on the 25th but the 24th. We just have a big dinner and open presents at midnight. That's about it.

Seeing my family is probably my favorite part of the holidays. A lot of my extended family doesn't live close enough to me for us to just take a day to see each other, so it's nice when they have time off around the holidays and we can get together. I understand what you're saying, but I value the time with my family together as a whole more than gifts, for sure.

This used to be a big thing in my family, but for some reason I'd always end up extremely ill when the tree came home. It turned that I was somehow allergic to pine... so no more real trees for my family haha. We have fake trees, but in the end I guess it's better than going out in freezing weather and cutting a tree down and trying to drag it into the house.

I remember by family used to decorate a lot.

Last year we didn't even do anything for Halloween or christmas.
And this year we did a lot for halloween, and might do some for christmas.

I don't get it, it's the stupid recession that's holding ppl back.

I'm not a big holiday person, but I do enjoy seeing extended family and taking some time off to hang out with the kid during the holidays. Food's not bad either.

You sure that's not the fire?

I like christmas. Lots of sales.

One thing I hate about christmas is my grandfather's birthday party. Not because I don't like the people or anything, but because I always have to set almost everything up the day of the party.

The guy is almost a century old though, I like to spend as much time with him as I can. He has a ton of cool stories, because he's lived through pretty much everything since the dawn of the 20th century.

I don't really do much for Christmas now than I used to do when I was younger. We used to throw big parties, feasts, and get lots of presents but now it's just usually getting like 4 presents and just hanging out. Since my parents are divorced, though, I like to go over to my dad's house and hang with him since he's really funny and extremely kind. Last year, I stayed with my dad and I loved it, so I look forward to going to his place again this year. The only problem is, however, I have to take my brother along. hammer.gif

I love Christmas, but I also love my birthday being right next to the holiday. I like that everybody is usually in better spirits around this time.

My birthday is in early January and I remember always being slighted because my mom was broke after the holidays. haha

My eldest brother's birthday is the 24th of December and my other brother's birthday is the 14th of December. Then a month later it's my birthday, so it's a whole bunch of events in a short time period. It's kind of odd how that works out, plus it's like that with my parents birthdays, because my dad's birthday, their anniversary, and my mom's birthday are all within a week of each other.

I'm always broke during the winter months, because there are a lot of birthdays around Christmas time.
