Roughs of website project, what do you think? Options

So I am working on my portfolio and I am starting on my website section. I am making pseudo websites. I need some constructive criticism opinions, or suggestions=) Thanks you guys. I haven't been on createblog in two years lol

It's....soooooooo tiny! Give us a proper preview? I can't even begin to judge your typography from that size.

it looks mis-aligned. It just seems like the nav should go down a lot more and the text should go down a few pixels.

I think you used too much purple on the image. Lighten it? The font you used for the navigation and all that is okay but I'm having difficulties reading the second tab. Does that say "about Utada" ? Other than those things, it looks nice and clean. Oh and I agree with Wes.

Oh yes that button does say About Utada. Maybe I'll used a darker gray for the font color. It's not supposed to be mis-aligned, but I do know what you meant. Thanks=)

not a fan of the text on the buttons. And the colors are a little to extreme. light grey to dark grey. The colors should be a lot more similiar. And I see you used the same thing text all over. you could find something better. Very nice though.

"Abt. Utada" should probably just read "About." It's a fansite, obviously you're going to be writing about the subject of the site and not something unrelated. Also, the button text should be vertically centred and maybe a bit smaller.

The weird border makes it all look low-rez, and the photo looks like it should end with the upward arc. With the text half on the two colours all in one line (the top line below the arc, where it then blurs to a sharp stop), it's bad.

Also, she looks kind of washed out which looks weird next to the crisp text.



I dunno. I think you've got a start, but it definitely needs some cleaning up.

The font I used for the body text was arial and the other font that I used for the buttons and titles is called rounded. I thought it would be boring for the button text to be in the center. I do agree with you Pandora, I should used proper spelling for my users to navigate. Yeah I will clean up the picture, it should go above the arc and not blend with the transparent background. I wasn't sure what border you referring to. I would have love to send this image in a png format so you can see the best quality but takes up to much space =) I got carried with the purple lol it's my fav color. I'll tone it down.

Nono, it looks okay with the buttons aligned to the right, but there should be an equal amount of padding below and above the words within the buttons themselves. That's all I meant. Otherwise, I think you're on the right track.
