Awright, so I've been put on the spot to come up with a few designs for the Llanelli Little Theatre, and I'm having a bit of trouble. They're just a small theatre looking for a small website. So far, I've only been able to come up with one design, and that's where I'm stuck. Small blog layouts I can do, but those are more relaxed and this is an actual business, which I've never done before. What I'm having the most difficulty with is the preferred size of the website - small, because they're not going to have a lot of text to fill up spaces.

Mockup One.
(Mind you, I'm really shitty at logotyping so I'm not even going to touch that, which is why the name is just text and not a logo.)

I've also got a variation with only one column, but I'm leaning towards the one above.

And that's pretty much where my ideas run out, I'm having a really tough time with this. Any ideas or critiques to sling at me? They'd be much appreciated. :x

Yeah I actually like the single column version too. The other one looks kind of crammed but it looks good too. Overall, I like it nod.gif

If they're a thetre company, that actually produces a lot of shows, there is a lot more you can do to the homepage than a blurb & blog. The sidebar could have an upcoming events panel. There's a lot more you could do than just a big text space. is what I'm saying.

Buuuummp.

So I did a live version of this in green, and made an actual real attempt at the logo. Still feels like something's missing, though.

Ideas? Critiques? Danke bitte.
