QUOTE
Sure humans are animals, be we feel human life is far more precious than an animal's. We are a far more advanced animal, therefore we THINK we are superior than animals we think are inferior(such as rats). Even though that may seem mean, unfortunatly, that's how it is.

Just wanted to point out that i didn't say we can't test on humans. We can, it's just humans have a choice and don't want to take a risk, where animals don't have a choice, unfortunatly.

but why?

That's just how it is. People think they are better than others because of intellect, money, and etc. It's how humans act. It's like they like to flaunt what they have. I mean we think we are better because we can do more things than others.

Money makes the world go 'round. Consumers want a product and businesses make the product. It is cheaper to test on poor lil helpless beings because they don't have a voice to protest. Same thing goes with circus', I hate them.

In my opinion we think we are better because in size and population we win over to animals. We are intelligent (not that animals are stupid) and have made the world an industry. People changed the world that they feel they control it more that animals. But I think we shouldn't think bad of animals, they are living things too.

if animals don't want to be tested on they should evolve into things that can say "hey. don't test on me".

until then their only purpous is to feed me and keep a natural balance.

Exactly.

Sure we are, we're just on the top of the food chain and more technologically advanced. Would you rather sacrifice a human life or a animal?

Ermm.. who said we test on animals cuz their innocent? What animal is more innocent than another? Are you saying we should leave all the cute bunnies alone and use ugly animals? We BREED animals for testing too. So to me they have no rights. The same thing as breeding animals to eat. Well, what should we test on then? The air? Or how about plants?

To me, to have rights, you need to understand them.

I'm bringing religion into this for a point, but lets not make this into a religion debate.

In the Bible it says that animals are here for our use.

We happen to be at the top of the food chain. Go us. If we weren't then we'd have little pillows with our names on them. Also, something that sets us apart is the ability to think. We can solve Algebra problems, no other animal on earth (no matter how smart) can do things like that. We're just s step above them.

Other animals can think as well; and we're not at the top of the food chain, other animals eat us, do they not?

Animals DO matter and in fact they should not be tested on very cruelly but the fact is that many of us use products that have been tested. More than half of all the make-up has been testes and thanks to monkeys alot of diseases can be cured. The only things that sucks is that sometimes the products have different effect on humans rather than animals.

I believe rights are for any animal that can understand them. We can understand them, can rats? Don't try to rebuttle with "what about mentally handicapped people" because i mean it as a whole. If all animals had rights just like humans, then i guess i can't eat them anymore. Wait... plants are living things too, maybe they should have rights! That way no one can eat anything! It's more like a power sort of thing. SInce humans have more powers in the world since we have guns and stuff, we can rule over the animals. therefore we CAN do tests on them and eat them. It's not FAIR but it's just how it is. Im sure if any other animal had the same intelligence or more power than we do, they would do the same to us and we can't do anything about it. And it's not fair but we cant change it

cruelty? how can they tell? the animals are breeded to not have more than a thirty second short-term memory. They are also breeded for testing, like the programming of a robot, that is what they live for. They live for the safety and comfort of humans.

I think that humans should do their best to protect animals. But you should always place more value in a human life than in that of an animal. For example, I'm sure you wouldn't like it if your next door neighbor died in place of a squirrel that was about to be run over.

I think It is wrong to test on animals for alot of the reasons you all have. They do not have a voice, so they don't have a choice...I think that in some ways, they should test certain things on humans, cause then humans would be able to volunteer for it, and it would be their choice, instead of putting a poor helpless animal in the lab.

Nature is the ultimate state of anarchy -- hence the term State of Nature -- until everything in nature abides by a single Constitution, nature is in a state of, well, nature, where any action taken to survive is inherently justified -- much like it is in artificial States of Nature such as dictatorships, mob rule, the United Nations, et cetera.

some things you need to do to survive.
if you need to end a life you created for testing purposes, you shouldn't be too happy.
but animals, although being cute and innocent, have a purpose for US. we may be animals but we are much higher than them.

you know what. why don't you feel bad for the plants. they're living too. the animals eat them.

i eat plenty of meat. i'm doing vegetarians worldwide a favor, i'm taking away the predators of those poor, defenseless plants.</sarcasm>

The lower animals fell into that niche. If you believe in science, then it's survival of the fittest. we're the most fit, we survive.

If you're into religion, God gave us the lower beings to consume. Something like, you will be the masters of all the beasts on earth, air and sea. I forgot exactly, look it up.

that's my two cents.
