My best friend is crushing on me and I don't want to ruin the relationship between us if I say no. I said in the beginning I don't want to be with him. I've been in relationships before and he has witnessed all of them and thinks that I could do better. He wants to take me out for ice cream as a date.
I don't know what to say or do.

It's awkward, but tell him that you need things to stay the way they are. I've been on both sides of this type of situation and neither are fun. Let him know that you care about him, but not in that way and the last thing you want is to damage your relationship as it presently stands.
