so i've been working in a new layout for my myspace profile and i've got to options and can't make up my mind, on one the header has paint splatters and the second doesnt, and i know the links are still myspace's default style i need to change that.

Live Preview:
Paint splatters
No Paint splatters

which one looks better? c&c
also it's been tested in IE and Safari, so if anyone has another browser tell me how it looks

No splatters is they way to go. Makes the layout balance out and looks a lot cleaner. Also, the splatters made the image look pretty low quality, as JC mentioned. However, on another note, I'm not sure if I really like the background. mellow.gif The rollovers and setup is pretty cool so thumbs up on that. :)

No splatters. The splatters lowers the quality. :( If you still have the psd and the splatters are on another layer you could sharpen the splatters and that should look better.

Also, I don't know if this does this for anyone else or not, but the rollovers and the main header image load extremely slow for me.

they do it for me too. >_>

I agree with everyone saying no paint splatters. Either download a higher quality brush for them, or don't use them on such nice pics. I'm not really feeling to background texture, or the random wordpress icon inside the layout. Other than that, I think it was nicely done. Have you tried using rollovers with the single image method? It makes it so it doesn't "blink"..

i kinda like it with the splatters.

but i also love nasty dirty textures that everyone else on here hates on me for.

but i mean, it makes it look vintage and old.

:emm: no, never heard of it..
is there a code to preload the rollover images?

the background takes a bit to load too.. but i had to leave it like that for higher resolutions

I like it better without the paint splatters on top. You could try using a different texture, but definitely not that one. Other than that, it's a pretty decent layout.

Honestly, I would like it with the paint splatters if they weren't low in quality and you used a different background. If you really want to use the brushes, either download bigger ones or make the ones that you're using right now smaller because I think you stretched them out too much. Other than that, it looks nice and clean. Oh and the background doesn't look good titled, imo, when I maximize the window. That's just me though.

Well, it's not titled, but it is tiled.

Once again, the one without the paint splatters looks way more appealing.
