cursing is sinful i suppose, but it's not a crime, only if you curse at a policeman or someone abusively.

i suppose guys have more aggressive-ness when they curse? they can be more violent than girls do, unless girls have a weapon of some sort. and also guys can get into deeper trouble than girls cause guys sometimes curse when they are super furiously angry, girls do too, but not as much.

I don't see how cussing can be a crime. _unsure.gif But honestly, I don't really see it as a huge deal. I cuss sometimes. I even do it in front of my parents and they don't really care anymore. But if someone says f*ck like ever other word, then yeah it gets annoying and isn't good on their part.

I have never cussed once. I'm proud of it. But its hard. If it is in your head, then it'll come out of your mouth. And because of bad influences like movies, and cb...hahahaha. There have been times when I came close. But I always catch myself.

What kind of person would I be if I couldn't even control the words that come out of my own mouth. A pretty week one I suppose.

While in private school, my bible studies instructor said, "The more you curse, the easier it will become. Eventually, you will be unable to stop."

I went home, and whispered naughty words under my breath hoping for the best. Still, I rarely use potty language, unless for comedy.

I especially liked his explination of f-ing, with pencils! thumbsup.gif

I don't think it's sinful, but I also think that there are better, more eloquent ways to express yourself rather than having to resort to crude swears for every sentence.

That's not to say that I don't swear myself, but usually only for good reason. I hate pottymouths who drop the F-bomb every other word.

-religious people argue it is one of the deadly sin, hidden under wrath/anger
-teens/kids argue if its funny, why not
-adults argue freedom of speech plays role as long as you aren't threatening anyone
-middle age mothers/fathers argue that its wrong and illegal to some extent
-old people still want to wash your mouth with soap if they hear that crying out, "heavens! oh god save me jesus, what foul things dost this child spuke" xD

this thread was meant to get an idea of who has the upper hand, girls or guys & what age level spukes more trash. i say f*ck it all, i'll bitch & bull where ever i want cuz i don't give a shit!

No, it's just considered rude to a lot of people. Especially when the time is not appropiate, like when there kids around or when you want to make a good, professional impression.

I don't know. IMO, as long as it's not offensive like racial or instigates a fight, it's all gravy then.

I've never seen or been a part of any situation where it would be considered more inappropriate for a male to swear than it would be for a female to swear. Typically, it's considered crass for a female to have a potty mouth (and I've been told as much, several times).

Honestly, I'm not much for abiding by social standards for the sake of abiding by social standards. I don't see anything wrong with swearing, cursing, cussing, etc. They are just words.

i don't think it's wrong/sinful/whatever. although i don't think adults should cuss around kids really.

i've never heard of it being more wrong for a guy to do it either. most the people i know who cuss a ton are dudes. i think it's more normal to me. if a girl is cussing a lot i usually take note of it more than if a guy was.

basically

it's a bad habit and there are more "proper" words that could be replaced with "curse" words.

well that's how i view it as..

you can't really blame kids or teens with this generation.. if you really want to moderate your kids, then do so, but it really depends on your lifestyle. if you want to go ahead and curse at every place you go to or every time you talk to someone, be my guest. people will have opinions of you, but you don't have to care what people say.
