Hey well I stumbled upon some dudes profile recently and I wanted to do something similar to what he did on his profile. Instead of the original navbar he has an image that contains only some of the nav bar links. I need help in hiding the other links in the navbar just as he did and also putting the image in that position with working links.

lol hope i explained myself clear enough on. any help would be appreciated

Here's a link to his profile

Thanks

That's not editing the navigation, it's just an image map and the navigation is hidden.

Use this in your CSS:
CODE
#topnav li {display:none;}
div#googlebar {display:none;}

Next, take your image and just add text to it in Photoshop or other image editing software (Home, Add, Message, Comment, etc..). Then, you'll have to use an image map code to map out the areas where each separate text is on the image. Image map to each different text on the custom navigation and put that code in your About Me.

If you don't know how to image map and/or you don't know the code, you should look at this tutorial for a basic reference.

alright i created the table and hid the original nav bar. Last thing I need help with is placing the entire image on top. I know how to do this with one image but since the table it's all sliced I'm not sure how to go about doing this

Alright I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to Div layouts. I've searched through the tutorials and didnt find what I was looking for..Mind giving me an example?
Also when i put the div how can i make it so that the basic information module goes down instead of just overlapping it

Slicing it would add unnecessary complexity with tables.

Just move down the basicInfoModule, place an image in a div, and position clear linked GIFs.

Or just ask Levi in the forum.

Alright Help has been great but just one more thing. When I look at my page if i maximize the browser window the basic information module sometimes goes under the picture that is placed on top. The transparent Gifs are also going under the image making it impossible to click the links.

The white right there is where the transparent gif would be. Just have it like that so it can be visible. Most of it has already gone under the top image.

Okay the code almost works out fine. One thing though when i change the left margin to try and center it a scroll bar starts to show in the bottom. Do i have to make the image smaller or is there another way?
