my friend is convinced that if you have a 3ghz processor you can only use 3 gb of ram. any extra will ever so barely efect it in tthe slighest way. is there any truth to this? also he says that intel processors are only good for light tasks but he is convinced that between an intel dual core and an amd 64 athlon that amd wins hands down. what do you think? i was planning on building an intel computer but now im thinking about going with amd cause i also read that intel 64 bit technology isnt as good as amd. and last but not last he thinks wester digital is rubbish compareds to seagate!? not sure where he gets his ideas.

go. o and this was posted from my dsi.

He's an idiot. Tell him to do some research. I used to rock AMD... Intel > AMD. And he really... really doesn't know wtf he's talkin about. The very fact that he's claiming 3ghz = 32bit which = 3gb max proves he doesn't deserve to put down an opinion on computers. Above that, any extra of what? GHz or RAM? Either way, GHz = faster speed and more RAM = capability of running many more programs and heavy resource programs at that.

Tell him to test drive a 4.0GHz CPU @ 16GB of RAM. rolleyes.gif

Or better yet, the new Intel I7 pushing 5.6GHz... lol Damn I wish I was in your shoes I think I would have slapped him silly.

haha, I tried. No he understands that a 64 bit processor and OS can handle more then 4gb ram but he thinks a computer with a 3ghz processor and 3gb of ram would be the same speed as one with a 3ghz processor and 16gb ram.

I tried to explain that a processor is speed ram is, random access memory. Big difference.

lol @ greatest hacker.

He probably found some type of trojan program and thinks being a trojanist is a hacker.

Tell him to go kill himself.
