Alright, so whenever i play my game i tend to lag a lot. My sisters computer is behind me and whenever we play the same game, same server, same channel she never lags as much as i do.
I really want to fix it and just make my internet and everything run faster but i dont know what i can do. Ive tried some things but they havent made much of a difference.

Check what else connects to the internet and disable/close it. And if you have IPV6 enabled, disable it. Since we only use IPV4 at the moment.

If you're connected wirelessly.. well you're stuck like chuck. Wireless sucks.

Could be the network card. There are plenty of things that could cause your game to lag.

network card?

The device that's either part of the motherboard or literally a NIC (pci card) that you plug your ethernet cable into.

If you want to Speed up your internet, then check with your ISP Provider.

but they are just going to tell you to go with a new internet package that will cause you to pay for.. so just research it by looking up YOUTUBE VIDEOS OR SOMETHING! cool.gif haha

How are you not sure which one you're using? That's basic knowledge.

Agreed, you should know if you have wired or wireless internet. Just check and see if you have an Ethernet cable hanging out the back of your computer. it looks like a larger version of a phone cable.

you can always run a Ping Test by typing in your IP adress inside the URL box on your browser, but just dont forget to put:
CODE
http://

right before the adress.

you should always Try Defragmenting your computer, and Cleaning it up with the Disk Cleanup.

To do so, then just do the following:
START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > DISK CLEANUP
do the DISK CLEANUP first, then do the DEFRAGMENT.

I've never liked troubleshooting internet speeds.

1. customer doesn't know what speed they're supposed to have

2. customer refuses to believe that the router is part of the problem

3. customer refuses to believe it has to do with their LAN card

etc. etc. etc.

If I could choose any part of the PC industry that I dislike, it's troubleshooting with internet speeds with customers/clients. They make the troubleshooting really difficult -.-
