New Web Layout - Opinions Needed, Made this and recently got it put together...somewhat. Options

Well let me begin by saying that I'm not sure what I should do with this. I like the concept and I'm excited that I was finally able to import my blog into my flash site through somewhat unorthodox methods but nonetheless that isn't what I'm here for. I don't know if I should make the whole webpage scroll or keep the scroll box as it is right now (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see the website). Also I don't know if I should keep the tabs at the top (aka the Links) where they are or if I should move them and/or change them (their shape, color, size, etc). I'm not certain on the background either. I think that's it other than that if you find any glitches with the flash please tell me so I can fix it since I do like to have my flash creations to be in working and stable condition (i'm pretty anal so if you notice anything tell me...I'm serious).

Well I think I got the resolution issues fixed after a lot of messing around with my Action Script. I also changed the background into something else. I haven't gotten either of the two sets of links positioned in the right place since I'm not sure what I want to do with them. Other than that I think everything should be working fine so If you happen to drop by my site and find some bug or error then tell me so I can be aware of it. Thanks for all the reply's.

I saw those tabs when the site first opened, but it moved up and I cant see it and when I go on the site, I cant even do an F11, I can do it on cB though :[

It's okay. I'm not really loving the blur, though. It detracts from everything else.

I don't think the bright colors work. I'd change that. Also the font you use for when you hover over the tabs. I think it's alright, tbh. It seems like you don't have a set theme.

I can see what you're saying about the resolution I think I'll make the whole page scroll instead of the blog/main content section itself. I wasn't sure what to do with the links (i.e. the ones at the top), so I just threw those in. I'll work on that as well. Well for now that's all I'll do (need to take it one step at a time x.x; ).

Also could you tell me what you meant by that or clarify? Maybe take a screen shot =X ?

Make your own background, that background being used is getting on my nerves everyone is using it and just recoloring it and making it look worse and worse.


It takes to long to load in my opinion and I don't think once you click on a tab that it should go back to a loading screen, people don't want to have to sit and wait. time is money *snap snap*

The 'header' text looks funny too....idk the style of the flash and then the background and everything combined just doesn't fit together.

It's alright but you could do better. I don't like where the 'admin links' are placed and I also dislike the background because it's way too overused. Another thing I dislike is that a window pops up for your comments so yeah...maybe you could try making the comments display on the same page instead of making them open on a new window. The tabs thing is kinda cool but the different colors just don't match with the layout colors. Otherwise, nice job.

honestly, i can't stand the background it just not doing it for me at all.
there needs to be more one the left side, the link are sorta just floating & not to mention some odd blue tiled type thing.

i think it needs a bit of work but im sure you could do it

i like parts of it, separately. nothing seems to really match. i agree about the admin links; also, the regular links - i couldn't readily identify them as links. i thought it was just some sort of decoration at first. they are really cool, but i personally believe that most people would prefer usability over visual appeal.

when i went to the photos page, the "close" link was blurred, then sharpened when i hovered. again, that's a cool effect, but it bothers the eye when something is out of focus, and it distracted me from the content. also, the admin links cover the photo content, which also distracts.

i'd definitely make the scrollbar more visible - i didn't see it when i first viewed your page and because i'm using a laptop, i tried the twofinger scroll gesture, and it didn't work. at first i thought you inserted some code that prevented scrolling down; it was when i looked really closely that i saw a scrollbar.

i don't like how the comments pop up in a new window/tab, with a completely different layout. keep the design the same, if at all possible.

the background is cute, but i think you should go for something more modern and streamlined-looking; that sort of look matches better with flash.

i really like the music player's look. i'd keep that, maybe with some visual aid to help me realize that it's actually a music player. i'd also put the volume somewhere near the top - keep all the music parts together.

i think you have a lot of good ideas but they don't match together. find one style, and stick to it, and you should be fine.
