What would you say is the best version of xp? and the best service pack?
Xp professional vs. xp home sp1 vs. sp2 vs. sp3 I think im gonna update my computer that has xp home edition to sp3. I heard few reports of it making computers faster. Im guessing that is the best sp. And I think I like home edition cause its cheaper I dont need the extra features professional has. |

Sp3 on either. It fixes bugs and security vulnerabilities...

XP SP2 with registry data edited to make programs think its SP3.
Works best as a cover for GTA 4..(since it can't run on SP2, it needs SP3, so you can just edit the registry data to make it look like you have SP3) overall.. WINDOWS 7 FTW! |

I like SP3 because it's a bit faster and there are security fixes, however there are some applications that don't work with SP3. I suggest making a list of applications you wish to use and finding out if they work with SP3 before you switch.

^Ill do that.
Some people say that the earlier service packs are more stable but I have never had stability problems with windows. |

I got SP3, Got a Virus, couldn't fkin remove it. So I installed Windows Vista Ultimate. and I r also dualbooting Windows 7 Having all of the security updates doesn't protect you from everything. Using your computer as local admin is a real bitch and a major downfall in XP. No matter how much security you have, viruses can't be stopped if you're installing them on your computer. Vista's the bee's knees in terms of stability, however it sucks up a hell of alot of resources. Windows 7 is looking like it's going to be the shit. I'm really looking forward to it. |

The reason you got a virus deospeon is because that virus is from MICROSOFT. Microsoft had recently sent out a virus to ensure that the People that have windows will be up to date on their Anti-Virus systems.. and its a harmful virus it doesnt really do anything..
and Windows XP HOME with Service Pack 3. Service Pack 3 Updates your Whole System with the Security updates and Harware updates.. It also made my Computer more reliable by updating my Applications. ![]() |
