for some reason on the home page of my clients web site there are boxes in the text?
I dont know why. I copy and pasted it from a document she sent me in doc format. Any ideas? Should I just type it out in notepad? |

Could you post all the code that you're using for the text.. It'd be easiest to see the problem from the source..

What are they? I am using cutenews and I just pasted it in. I think it definitely has something to do with the text format or something.

It's because there are either (a) characters not in the page's character set (unlikely since you're using UTF-8), or (b) the text contains characters that cannot be displayed in the given font.

Ok i think i solved it. I guess microsoft word make "-" differently cause everywhere there was - it put the box. So i just erased it and put it in again and then they showed up normally.

Since you're using cute news, it could be what Mipadi has mentioned, that you copy and pasted something, like possibly a [tab] in the text. So it came out different than what you might have it expected to look like. To fix the problem, just go into the editor for the cutenews post, and look for the "view source" option for the editing for the text, and see if their are tags within the code that don't belong, remove them, and your post should be back to normal.
