i do this everyday regardless ;o i don't like the lights on when i'm not actually doing anything that needs light.

i thought earthle only works if you're viewing through a CRT.
wait, let me rephrase: it is my belief that earthle only works if you're viewing through a CRT. with LCDs, you're better off just reducing the brightness of your monitor. |

read my edit.
with LCDs, the backlight is always on, and the difference between black and white pixels is significantly less than that of the pixels on a CRT. therefore, you are better off just setting the default brightness lower so that each pixel, black or white, would consume less energy. besides, when you're searching through a search engine, i'm pretty sure you're only at that search page for a short amount of time. we're spending more of our time here on createblog, blasting "white" pixels than we do on google atm. |

Honestly, probably not. But, I do what I can on a daily basis to try and conserve energy. "Or you can vote global warming by leaving your lights on" is kind of a douched thing to say
