Well, my parents haven't been laid off or fired, since they've been there long enough to be bosses.

Since I work at a local fleamarket, less customers have been coming out since Gas Prices are unbelievable.

Just got into a new contract. Actually working with the government of Australia, U.S., Canada, and U.K.

So no worries for now as I was guaranteed that even if there was an economic crash I would (a long with all the other employees) be taken care of.

Prior to that, I had to slow down on buying clothes and video games.

Well, I don't have a job. And it's been hard finding one.

Jury's still out on whether that's the fault of the economy, the general suckiness of my résumé, or the fact that I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science.

Companies are sucking money out of my brothers salary, which means I get paid less because I work for him. No joke, last year my brother had to pay out 90%+ of his income.

Slowed down on buying video games.

I don't make as much money as I used to. I'm under $5k a year. Which still isn't too bad for a 16 year old unadvertised freelance web designer from South Mississippi.

My parents still have their job but they are making a lot less. We live in michigan and right now its just hearing how bad the economy is. Our school is trying to preserve money so they only have the heat on for about an hour and they don't always keep the lights on.
Though i find it stupid because they spend large amounts of money on other shit that we dont need.

though back to subject, i know a lot of people who our suffering and just out of my town there's a small town that i feel will soon be a ghost town within the next 2 years. My friends house got taken away, they luckily have a new place.

Yes it is, IMO. If I had to support myself, of course I'd go out there and work something menial, but since I'm living with my parents, I have the luxury of being selective. I want something that's going to put me on a career path.

I thought we would be saving money up since a lot of people are losing their jobs or whatever but apparently my parents aren't worried at all and I'm the one being paranoid and yelling at them for spending recklessly.

Today they bought two flat screen tv's...and I went crazy.

Other than gas going up, haven't really changed anything.

I'd like to say I'm cutting spending, too...but just today, I bought about $40 in books, and I still smoke kreteks.

And I don't even have a job. sad.gif

It's related to Internet Protocol, not really supposed to get into details.

But an example, if you ever look up at the street lights and there's cameras, we can watch live video feed at any time. shifty.gif

My position is pretty much fixing any issues on the Head-In side of things. thumbsup.gif

Naw... I don't monitor them, I can by loggin in via IP address with username and password. I fix them if there's an issue on the server side. And if you hack those that's an automatic Federal Offense in the U.S. wink.gif

I don't know about the laws in the other countries though.

No, the dollar has been going UP in value compared to most other currencies for the past few months.

Though, compared to gold, it's worth a lot less than it was a few years ago.

Police can't do anything. Basically the only proper way to catch someone is by looking at the log of IP addresses that gained access to the surveillance cameras. If there's one that's foreign (not in the system) then they'll track the IP address and start an investigation, from my understanding.

this was really long. but i had to edit it. it was like 3 paragraphs long! i'll try to shorten it.

i moved to orlando with my mom. couldnt find a job in orlando after 2 months, neither could my mom (who got laid off of her last job) we moved back here to niceville (which is 6hrs away btw) and got my old job back working at a pizza place making 7.65. i love that job but the pay sux. i work about 5-7 days a week. i live at home with my parents still but thats because i pay my bills and then i help them pay bills as well. i have a camaro so gas prices affect me a lot. since no one is hiring my mom cant find a job and is on unemployment right now, she's applied for over 150 jobs and still nothing. i try to help out as much as i can. i do a little bit of photography around here on the side but as of right now there is no profit from it. our house is being foreclosed on and my mom wont try the "produce the note" strategy (if you or someone you know is going through foreclosure have them research that btw.) so we're trying to find another place to live and its not going very well. my dad is an alcoholic so he drinks a lot of our money, and thats not good when the other spouse is out of work. ummm other than that it doesnt affect us much. lol.

The purple and green shirt is pretty sick. Anyways, if the economy wasn't affecting you at all, you wouldn't be taking pictures of your pseudo-expensive clothes and proudly posting them on the internet.

I thought I wouldn't have to deal with the issue of job security, however, now that the Marine Corps is pushing the issue of recruiting, and gaining so many incoming personnel, promotions are being pushed through the ranks. Essentially, there are just way too many Non-Commissioned Officers in the Corps and I might not be able to re-enlist. There are, of course, ways around this issue with other opportunities that this gun club has to offer, however, for a Marine with a less than flattering track record, he/she would be SOL.

lmao you don't know me at all.

i moved out of my parents house 3 years ago bro. i'm currently a college student. i been living on my own for three years. i pay for my own rent, tuition, car insurance, electricity bills, groceries, textbooks, and anything else i need to keep myself going. out of my three years of being independent, my parents has ONLY loaned me $300, and that's because I needed to pay for some books my 1st quarter of freshman year. i already gave them 300 back. also mind the fact that university tuition is expensive as hell. i saved alot of money back in highschool for this. f*ck outta here.

I still live at home, but hey I only make about $400-500/month from my job on campus. It's just something to pay the bills (internet + cell) and fooding. I'm just glad to have a job where I sit around most of the time, so it's all good for me. Tung knows what I'm talking about. thumbsup.gif O

At Josh's work someone in marketing was fired but they ended up finding another job that payed more and was a lot better.

Hasn't really bothered me any, I'm to young for it to really bother me.

then...don't complain that the economy is affecting you if the internet is so dear to your heart.

The Internet's almost become as much a necessity as electricity in America.

You can bet the economy's affecting me, but I'm still paying for Internet access, because in terms of, e.g., finding a job, I'd be greatly disadvantaged without it.

right, but if you act like it's a huge deal that the economy is eating your family alive, the internet would be the last of my concerns.

And libraries do have free internet =/ But I agree with Michael, the internet would be the last thing I'd give up. I'd get rid of cable and the landline before I get rid of the internet.

Really? Are you listed somewhere? Do you have your own website?

No, I just advertise really well.

I did have my own website, but my server is fried.

livin with mommy and daddy and not having to pay rent/health insurance/life insurance/dental insurance/vision insurance/vehicular insurance/car payments/electricity/water/cable/internet etc... does not count in this discussion. stubborn.gif

The economy has not affected me at all either, as I still go out to trendy restaurants in the city daily. The only thing that will differ now, is that I will now be saving up for my own apartment with my bestie.

Slowed down on buying video games.

I don't make as much money as I used to. I'm under $5k a year. Which still isn't too bad for a 16 year old unadvertised freelance web designer from South Mississippi.

do you still do your taxes?
