how familiar with HTML are you? i wouldn't think opening a design site (unless you're planning on hiring other designers) would be a wise choice if you don't already know how to code one. are you doing graphic or web design? if it's just graphic design, typically you can get away with a template, instead of making your own. though, even if it is only graphics, you're better off being creative in your designs as well as fluent in web languages.
