So I was doing my observations for one of my ed classes, and one day it involved sitting in on an early elementary music class. The kids had little pouches that went around their waists for their recorders and stuff, and the teacher was like "Alright kids, if you don't know how to tie it go see Danielle and she'll help you!" I gave her a look and she was like (right in front of the kids, lol) "They're in kindergarten, most of them don't even know how to tie their shoes yet." And as they all lined up in front of me I looked down at each kid and saw that most of them had either slip-on or velcro shoes. Then I looked down at my own shoes and I was wearing slip-on shoes, too. I laughed. >.>

Anyway, that story is only slightly relevant. I just wanted to see if anyone had seen this yet:

I didn't have any shoes with laces on me (I'm at my mom's house) but I tried it on the drawstring on my pajama pants because I'm bored and I'm a nerd. It actually is faster, but it's kinda hard to get the hang of at first. I dunno if I'll switch my method because I don't really think about it anymore.

Wow, I never realized I was doing it wrong, or that there was a different way to do it. No wonder my bows always look so jacked up!

Smooth edit.

I tie mine by looping them through the lace hooks to keep the shoe from compressing over the tongue. It's a little trick I learned from Runner's Factory.

I have always wondered how to lace shoes horizontally. The kind of shoes I sold never required lacing unless they were knee-high boots. THOSE I could lace in under 30 seconds.

fieggen.com/shoelace

lol I visited his site before for custom lacing my shoes

I never really tried learning the ian knot or whatever, mainly 'cause my shoes are loose and don't often require me to retie them.

"The rabbit comes out of the hole and starts laughing at you, so you grab its tail, but he pulls your hand off, so then you follow the trail of blood to his nest and strangle him to death!"

There was some rhyme that they told us when I was in Kindergarten. No one see my shoelaces, because I usually wear pants that cover them up.

Wow I tried the Ian knot & failed. Miserably.

I have never made a loop & then wrap it make it go around the other one. It's weird to me. I always make the bunny ears, cross them, tuck them, & pull. Now I'm going pay more attention to how people tied their shoes. pinch.gif
