Japanese Cartoon, It's Lupe, but it's not Options

So apparently Lupe Fiasco has this side project called Japanese Cartoon. From beatcakes:

In Lupe Fiasco’s case, you simply watch a film, get invigorated, start a band, begin making not so bad post-indie punk music in a faux British accent, think of a peculiar band name (cue “Japanese Cartoon”), create a MySpace page, & upload the music. Then act like it isn’t you but rather Percival Fats. Cool."

I haven't listened to their stuff yet, but it sounds interesting. What do you think?

Japanese Cartoon will reload songs onto the player as soon as we figure out how via the technical support fellows at Myspace.

Please DO NOT disseminate their music ILLEGALLY.

These guys have worked very hard and placed a large amount of energy and financial dedication into this project.

Lupe does finance the band but is NOT I REPEAT NOT THE SINGER IN JAPANESE CARTOON. He is however the producer and we value his participation very much.

We will not be taking any friend requests until this security matter is cleared up as we might not be able to keep this page.

i've been too lazy to make this topic for a while and i thought someone else would do it. then i forgot about it completely but have just remembered. anyway, so rumor has it that lupe fiasco has decided to start a rock band and sing in a british accent.

After claiming to have plans to retire after his next album, it appears as though Lupe Fiasco has possibly revealed his next project.

Various blogs have reported that Lupe will be fronting a rock band called Japanese Cartoon under the alias Percival Fats, in which he is singing in a British accent.

Whether this project will amount to an album or just a few songs is unknown; however, two tracks credited to the group have been released - "Army" and "Heirplanes."

Amidst the blog reports, Japanese Cartoon made a post on their Myspace page, denying that Lupe is the lead singer, but confirming his involvement in other aspects:

Due to circumstances beyond my control...the album roll out has changed radically...LUPE.N.D. has been postponed indefinitely!!!
