So I have questions, because I'm a noob when it comes to Macs.
- About external hard drives, are they compatible with Macs? Or do you have to buy an Apple HD? - Do you have to have an Apple wireless router (thing) or can it be Netgear, etc? My house currently has a Netgear router and it would suck...if my computer didn't work with that. & a non Mac question. What's the difference between Adobe PhotoShop CS3 and Adobe PhotoShop CS4? Which would be better to buy? Thanks in advance! |

No, any hard drive will work, as long as you format it correctly. - Do you have to have an Apple wireless router (thing) or can it be Netgear, etc? If there is a significant price difference, you should definitely go for the cheaper one, unless you really want all the features. I don't even notice much of a difference between Adobe Photoshop 7 and CS. ![]() You can use third party accessories as long as they are compatible with the Mac. Think of a iPod (even though it is an apple product) - you can format it for either a mac or a PC, however not both. I believe that is the same for external hard drives, since my boyfriend's is only formatted for PCs. If you can find a external HDD that is dual formatted (does that exist? I hope so), then that's good too since you might want to transfer items to two different computers. However, usb flash drives are more generous, as they are usually plug and play devices. And apple knows better than limit network connection to apple-only products, so yea you should be able to connect to any router, as mipadi said. You can also get wifi with your laptop from other places, so yea it's more convenient as well. |
