Is this too harsh?, I'm reviewing someone. Options

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. I thought that this would be the section to put it in.

I don't want to be too mean to this person I'm reviewing, but I just want to let her know what could make her site better.


I'm reviewing Shimmering-Kiss. This is the review I'm going to let her see.

I'm not completly done yet, but that is what I have so far.

Frankly I don't think you were harsh enough. That layout is unacceptably FUGLY. You critique her on the layout and blinding text and whatever, which are obviously problems, but you overlook that she uses those freaking pixel dolls on her page, and sparkly text. CARDINAL RULE OF WEB-DESIGN: For the love of god, do not use pixel dolls or sparkly text banners, god forbid BOTH AT ONCE.

There's more I could say but yeah. I don't know why people allow themselves to be reviewed when they're putting themselves up for utter embarrassment.

I wouldn't say that. I think that they are trying to see what other people think and improve. That's why I do it.

I think this might be better in the Designer's Cafe, so I'm moving it there.

Based on their site, you weren't too harsh at all, but I would reconsider doing reviews already if I were you. I don't mean too sound to harsh here, but people might not take a negative review from you so well because your site isn't necessarily grade-A quality yet either.

I agree with both Gigi and Gabi completely. You should wait until you have more skill to start to criticize people at all.

You should get reviews yourself and if I had a reliable computer, I would give your site a review if you requested but I don't.

Add your site to yoursite.nu, it's a very good review site. I got really harsh reviews there and I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the girl you reviewed. They have very experienced people.
